New run time minus Logos cue plus re-edited cues: 1:35:41
Note: this isn’t a deluxe edition I had initially planned on but seeing a clip of the film at a friend’s house over the weekend has inspired me to do this.
I had never heard of Joe Kraemer before this score and I never particularly enjoyed the other scores in the franchise so I let this one slip me by, until now.
Using both the 55 (minus the repeat cue) track and 31 track FYC versions, I combined the two sources to form this deluxe edition. The 31 track FYC version had some woodblock overlays, one whole section of a cue and an alternate of one of the finale cues that were missing in the 55 track version which I have restored in this edition.
As far as editorial goes, I raised the volume and combined cues, using the 31 track FYC as reference as well as taking my own liberties to further improve the flow. This came from a very low quality source as we all know so I didn’t want to do too much to avoid further destroying the sound. It would benefit from a true lossless upgrade but for what it is, it’s quite listenable.
This is a surprise of an action score in that it not only uses Lalo Schifrin’s original themes but also the new material is quite fun. A great throwback score. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye on Mr. Kraemer’s work.
Without further adieu, ENJOY!
Does anyone know if there’s a FYC physically, sent by Paramount, and if it’s lossy sourced?
Gosh darn it. Until I know anything, I’m keeping my web-rip FYC and official album. x3
Mr. Gold, I know I can count on you, thank you very much!
We Cover Designers Need to Stick together Mate. 😉
Oh yes man, thats really true! 🙂
The second track titled Logos has been removed too as it is basically the same cue featured in Dungeon Fight minus some woodblock sounds in the opening.
This will be the last edit I do until lossless sources come around as the rest sounds fine enough to me to not warrant any additional edits to be made.
I’m up to my fifth listening in two days and I’m surprised how much I love this score.
The movie is great as well, you should check it out! 🙂
I listened to it from beginning to end and it could’ve been purely wrong for the mood but it never quite picked up for me.
#1 Rogue Nation
#2 Ghost Protocol
#3 Mission: Impossible 1
#4 Mission: Impossible 3
#5 Mission: Impossible 2
much appreciated
🙂
It’s physically available, like all FYCs that I know of, and if it’s anything like the Interstellar FYC then it’s lossy-sourced.
I haven’t even heard of it, not until I read your post. They published 4 FYC versions on the website. Something tells me they got some sort of trouble. I fear they won’t make a physical version…
Thank you!
Note: tracks 2, 4 & 19 (mid of track) from official release not present here
8 & 9 from this thread – the same tracks
would you be so kind and send me the link for this great music. Thanks in advance.
Much appreciated
