Small Soldiers by Jerry goldsmith answers to long asked questions

After months of searching I have 99% of the music master tapes and it’s not from the 5.1 surround, I have found it to be quite extensive with alternates and it makes sense after being able to talk with the director and many of the orchestra that was there, the last half of the film was heavily edited, and music was too it’s a huge mess what they did, universal butchered the script and by doing so altered the music some portions you hear in the movie such as the chase scene on the moped and the comandos vehicles aren’t Actully it’s on price it’s spliced music and from that point on I have found many alterations and cuts of music it’s not even funny the Patton cue in the movie is from Varsee but not the version they claim it is it’s Actully called the patron march and the last half of it was re recorded to there’s more splicing. I see why the last half is missing from everything now I have orginal cue names also "they are also refered to as slates here" but I am considering a new release from myself feel free to let me know how you feel.

I’d love to but the fan base just doesn’t seem big enough and it’s work to sort and all for it these days I have a lot a gigs of music and such and make film edits and all.

I have a lot of time available, so if you like I’d be more than happy to put together a new version of the soundtrack. PM me with whatever new material you’ve found and I’ll happily start work on it this evening. I’ve always really liked the score to this film ever since I was a kid, and was very disappointed by how much music the official soundtrack CD was missing, so to be able to sit down and listen to the whole thing from beginning to end, some of it possibly extended, as you say, would be an absolute pleasure.

Ive considered it its way more time than you think, I heard intrada may be doing something with it so let’s sit and see.

I went to Disneyland with Joe Dante, his wife, and his niece Lizzy. Lizzy and I are good friends. Joe is such a cool guy and we talked about Jerry Goldsmith a lot. It’s a pity the fanbase for this film isn’t larger. I adored it as a child and still really love it.

Why’s that? Is it too time-consuming of a project?
