im not sure about anybody else but i would LOVE to start hearing game music on TV & the radio! the question is what can we do to help make that happen? HOW can we convince the networks & radio stations that VGM is a worthwhile investment? we need to prove to the networks & radio stations that game music is as much of a valid genre as pop or rock! i will be creating a blog soon but unfortunately i don’t think that will be enough! let’s get VGM widespread on TV & the radio! who’s with me? thanks in advance!

The biggest problem, I think, has to do with older people running the media. They don’t recognize game music as actual music, and they have no desire to do so. I think if you and a bunch of other folks went to their local community radio station and started a radio show with vgm as the main basis of the show, it’d be a start. The thing is, you’d have to get several folks to do it at the same time. It’d be even more impressive if you could all get simultaneous slots (regardless of time zone) and then "Skype chat" the whole thing.

Topics could be listener-submitted, though the first couple of shows would have to be on the team.

A good chunk of this idea comes from the "OverClocked After Dark (http://www.8bitx.com/OCAD/)" Podcast*.
*Site looks pretty jacked-up, but last time I checked the episode links were all good

Sidenote: didn’t you start another post like this before?

you just hit the nail on the head! that’s exactly what the problem is maybe if younger people were in charge of TV & radio things would be different but thanks for the suggestions though!

BTW yeah i posted this before but i didn’t want to bump an older thread!

If you get it, and the station streams online, you’ll have to post a link here for anyone else who might be interested in this!

It would be great for this to become a reality.

A country station?!? Lol! Yeah… Probably not… Unless you get some country sounding game music… Even then… Highly unlikely!
