I can’t believe that for the first time a Tarantino film is gonna have an actual score. I don’t count RZA’s "material" (sound effects) in Kill Bill vol. I, and Robert Rodriguez did a few cues totaling mere minutes for vol. II. This is a full score, if I’m correct. I hope it’s as good as classic Morricone.

Question remains whether Tarantino’s dropped songs outweigh Morricone’s score and in turn disqualify the score from consideration. But it would be grand to see the old fart finally win a real Oscar.

Williams has several Oscars, does he not? Morricone deserves one.

IRC, Williams has 4 for original score (Jaws, Star Wars, ET and Schindler’s List), and 1 for adaption (Fiddler on the Roof).
