Just saw it, HOLY $#!+ IT’S GOOD. It’s just what we needed. I cannot understand why some dislike it, so someone please explain?

Because some people are never happy unless if they can complain about something. Some Star Wars fans are some of the worst for this. There are some who’ve "hated" everything since A New Hope. Yep. Including Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Yes Force Awakens hits the same story beats as A New Hope, but that’s because both tell a similar take on the "Hero’s Journey". It’s in it’s differences that Force Awakens stands out. All the heroes are reluctant heroes to start with unlike the original heroes, Luke wants to leave Tatooine ASAP while Rey wants to stay on Jakku desperately, Kylo is conflicted, The Resistance has the upper hand over the First Order (unlike the Empire having the upper hand over the Rebellion) etc.

Thank you very much. took my boy and a few of his mates to see it at the imax as his birthday treat yesterday. I thought the film was fantastic., every good as it was when I first saw Star Wars in my local cinema in 77. Good film and good score.

Gonna try and download this. I bought the soundtrack from Amazon, got 2nd day shipping so I’d get it on Friday, and it arrives in a box with no packaging material to protect it, rattling around in the box. Sure enough, the CD is all kinds of scratched and I couldn’t be more disappointed.
