Enjoy!!
FLAC REUPLOADED ! 11/01/2018
2015 – Low ratio mp3 Thanks to the user andric7242 for the mp3 file!!!
2017 – Thanks to Tangotreats for FLAC file and personal rip!!
I agree so much.
Vinyl LPs already have a lot of quality issues in standard (hum noise, clicks & cracks, a short bandwidth, etc.), so it’s a ‘double penalty’ if they are recorded in crappy low bitrate MP3…

thanks so much, but what a pity in so low quality
Yeh… it sucks, but worst is nothing!
Indeed.
That’s why I suppose you found these rips somewhere on the web.

Actually a friend traded this with another user from this forum… that guy was kinda selfish with Seiji Yokoyama’s album, so trading it with other of his compositions was the only key to getting this and the "kaze to ki no uta". This albums are pretty damn hard to find
Thanks for the full infos.
I agree with you, unfortunately there are some selfish guys in anime music sharing even in this forum. Those pals are real pain for the community. Here, in FFShrine, those case are more frequent on the anime music. People are more open for sharing high quality audio like lossless or/and uncompressed formats in the other music sections (‘Video Games Music’ and ‘Movie and Film, Television and Classical Music’.
I noticed this selfishness about anime music sharing is related with sort of particular near-bad spirit growing in the anime-fan community especially in some locations like France and south western Europe (unfortunately, I know well this subject).
if someone sells this record feel free to contact me.
Does that "selfish" user happen to have a Blogspot page, by any chance?
hahaha, no, it was not that one… i can’t recall the name of the user
EDIT: Nvm, I don’t think it’s worth getting. The re-issue has been around for a couple of months and according to a few Discogs reviews it was apparently ripped from a dirty LP copy of the album

Is is really an official Columbia re-release? Because if the code is COJX-9297 as discogs s…t report, it’s impossible it’s an european release as stated, I don’t find other info on the web.
Also it would be interesting know if the scat singer is really Satoko Yamano. In my opinion is a Kazuko Kawashima performance
I recall having read Yamano credited for the scat on this album somewhere, but I can’t recall where exactly (vgmdb maybe? They have the correct information now, though) and was very confused because I was totally sure it was Kawashima after hearing her. If the wrong information was up on a well known site like that one, it could explain why so many people have been confused about it.

its so funny to see you asking for someone uploading an album for everyone or for you, because i remember asking you for uploading some seiji yokoyama album’s that you had and you said that you were only trading and not simply sharing those albums. i don’t really like this kind of selfish people…
There’s a Discogs copy (for the authentic one, not the bootleg) that’s currently going for $350. Is that reasonable? 😛
It’s still pretty high but it’s better than the other copy that’s been on sale for a while now ($700). I’m actually thinking about getting the $350 copy myself so I could also try ripping it but I haven’t decided yet.
All the albums I own from Seiji Yokoyama have one day or another made available on this forum! Keep to yourself your petty remarks …
Ikkiman and Dairuggar XV haven’t been uploaded yet.
I do not own them
I guess you were right about not owning Dairuggar but it says here you own Ikkiman.
Yes, they have been available, but i remember back in 2014-2015, asking you for those albums that weren’t available like "Ragen blue" and a lot other that you had. But you simply gave a "nope, i just trade them" as an answer… That’s selfish dude, just share for sharing, not for being an elitist guy that needs "something" to share… eventually i brought my self a copy of ragen blue and the first thing that i did when i got it was sharing it, and it feels so good when a lot people that was/is in the desperate situation of getting a album that really wants to listen to and they can download it, enjoy it and they gave you a lot of thanks, feels awesome…
No these albums were available on the forum, it was enough to look a little !! Before treating selfish people learn to use the net and search engines. A word to you …

*cries*
Yeah, no… 😉
The copy on French eBay posted by rijufrajo seems to be the bootleg pressing – or at least, a 2017 repressing – with mixed reviews, to say the least. There is someone on the Discogs page of the album complaining about excessive noise on the B side so this makes me worry if it’s a vinyl pressing of a transfer from the original vinyl. I can deal with noise, but if it’s outright crap…
I see a thread about it on VGMdb that suggests it’s not that bad and there’s a link to a Youtube video which is apparently of this new version. It doesn’t sound bad to me. http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18403
I bow to the thread’s judgment. If you guys think it’s worthwhile I’m willing to buy and transfer it.
I’d be willing to enter a pool for the $350 (266) copy on Discogs. We could crowd-fund it, I guess… but that creates a whole new fun argument later about who owns the record… Either way I’m not paying 266 for *ANY* record, no sir, no way… I’m stupid, but I’m not rich.
I’d be more than happy to help donate for the OST like we did for the Ulysses 31 Japanese OST, but are other people willing to do it?
If you think the repressing is OK, I’ll buy it, no question, no donation required.
whats the highest you’re willing to spend on a record?
I bought the 2017 pressing just now. We’ll see, maybe it’ll turn out to be great… and at any rate, it can’t turn out to be worse than the copy on the thread.
You know the Youtube video you posted in the Discogs thread? Why’s it mono? The version posted in this thread is a piss-poor transfer, but it is stereo… What’s the story behind the Youtube version?
I hope I don’t get this repressing to discover it’s mono…
I’m pretty sure it’s in stereo, though. The only concerns about the repress on the discogs page is that some mint copies still have lots of clicks heard around the album
in that case… do you mind sharing the "gegege no kitaro soundtrack"? by seiji yokoyama
I’m hoping this is coming from people who aren’t very familiar with *new* vinyl, which is not necessarily "clean" when it comes out of the factory. I’ve had new records straight out of the cellophane that sound like frying bacon but are almost surface-silent when cleaned. Also, it’s a sad fact that modern vinyl isn’t pressed to the standards it used to be – and the chances of a record of very questionable origin receiving a top-quality pressing are, shall we say, fairly low…
Limited noise I can deal with if the sound quality is otherwise of a good quality. I transferred this a while ago and you wouldn’t know that the vinyl was in pretty bad condition: http://picosong.com/w3vyi/
EDIT: The record has been delivered. It’s not too bad, but it’s definitely a bootleg. The cover and label are clearly scanned from the original LP and printed poorly. The record sounds good and is indeed stereo. (And yes, it does sound better than the Youtube clip would suggest.)
Surface is quiet by modern vinyl standards. It’s a weird pressing – the run-in is enormous and the run-out finishes less than 1mm from the label. The manufacturing isn’t great, but it’s servicable – this is probably from one of those small-run Eastern-European pressing plants. It’ll do. I can work with this. 🙂
Don’t want to rush you on this, but how long do you think it’ll take you to digitally transfer the record?
[Edit: I had to start again because some jackass is setting off fireworks and you could hear them on the transfer!!!!]
[Edit again: And again, going to have a bath and try again in an hour.]
They’re still going. I think I’m going to give up for tonight. Have this brief sample track to salivate over until tomorrow… (Sorry, I accidentally sliced off some higher frequencies while correcting hum. Still sounds pretty good though.)
All done 😉

finally i can listen it (yeah not listened yet cause of the so low quality), it’s a great soundtrack, Seiji at work.
cacis, the scans are in the archive.
weirdly Lossless Audio Checker say that it’s not true lossless (but sometimes it gives you false results)
maybe you used a click/pop filter ? it will explain the result.
but for sure, my ears & me are saying "THANKS" to you tangotreats :3
Those things work in a variety of ways – the most common technique is to measure frequency response – if there’s little or nothing between 16 and 22khz they will automatically flag a perfectly genuine lossless recording as fake. Feeding a digital transfer of a bootleg pressing of an almost 40-year-old recording of a low budget television soundtrack from Japan… is seriously not going to give any kind of useful results.
I can promise this much; from turntable to upload was genuine lossless. I always worry about things which are mastered from "questionable" sources – there’s nothing to stop some unscrupulous person sending MP3s to a vinyl cutting plant, after all… I do not *think* this is lossy-sourced. As much as you can tell by looking at the waveform (not completely, but you get an idea) it appears to be lossless, and to my ears it sounds lossless. The 2016-pressed LP seems to have been pressed from a digital source – I did the transfer at 96khz but there’s a hard cutoff just below 22.5khz suggesting a 44.1khz master.
We can never know for sure. If someone wants to pay 266 for a used (and potentially noisy) copy of the original pressing on the off-chance, I’m very happy for them to do so… Speaking personally, I like this score, but not enough to blow that much money. This sounds perfectly good to my ears. Getting this record cost, all in all, 50 once factoring in the cost of the vinyl, cost of shipping, and expense incurred in driving to the delivery office to pick up the package.
That’s enough. 😉
it’s why that i said "weirdly" about the LAC.
& i checked some tracks visually too (with wavepad) :p
Face B is the best, female chorus for the win !
cheers
– 25 euros sold from that german shop, too cheap if it’s an import official release.
– it seems there’s no obi strip
– no japanese infos on the web
– no JAN or code bar, that sound very very strange
– ahahahahaha there’s the "Umi no Triton original soundtrack on the left part of the back (look picture uploaded 海のトリトン オリジナル・サウンドトラック), bootleggers took the lower from the "Umi no Triton" original release and simply pasted on this release without corrected it because they don’t read japanese THOSE STUPID IDIOTS

CASE CLOSED!!!
