Though this time we don’t have Jason graves, his main theme from the 2013 game is in here re-visited in some cues and re-arranged. I was a bit sad it was not Jason Graves back for the music , but I was also happy he was not. I love Jason Graves and a lot, but the fact that his music in the last game was more horror oriented, although fitting some parts of the game, It was not a Tomb Raider in matter of music. In fact the soundtrack was the thing that made not feel I was playing Tomb raider but rather some other game of coincidences.
I don’t know Bobby Tahouri, but I give this guy some kudos. He went a more "Epic" in some tracks, passing a bit in "film score" style. Soundtrack is much better then the Jason Graves work, for the reasons I pointed above.
While the game is not yet released…. This is making me hyped for it. 😀

Skimming through it. Sound a lot better then the previous one. That was mostly ambient.

That was Jason Graves style. He is good composer in that style, and I admire him a lot, specially in his horror mood scene. But Although certain scenes in the game the horror did fit well, the rest, I tell you that sometimes I was not sure if a guy was making noise with iron buckets or if it was from the music persuasions.
I did like the soundtrack, as I like Jason graves, but it was not that fitting or good or music for a game in that style. I can understand that the Horror mood was more for psychological effect of Lara being alone in the island and surviving. I can perhaps see it working that way. But still, I tell you, sometimes the ambient music was confusing me if someone was coming near or not.
