Brief summary for those of you who don’t know what it is (according to Orie):
Back when the Digital Trip Synthesizer Fantasy albums were being made in the 80s, Animage also tried to make remix albums of various
Japanese anime works similar to what some of the Digital Trip albums were doing; these albums were known as "HI-TECH SERIES" albums. Unlike
the Digital Trip albums, where they were also making original albums based off of manga as well, Hi-Tech albums were only focused on anime. Sadly,
I don’t have a complete list of which albums were released in this label…but I do know that most of the 80s OSTs made by Joe Hisaishi (except for Venus Wars)
had a Hi-Tech album. This includes the Ghibli OSTs made by him as well
Unfortunately, this label didn’t last long in Japan and died out quickly since it wasn’t very well-received. The only albums in the series that
got a re-release on CD were Joe Hisaishi’s Ghibli works and some other albums (Magical Emi, GeGeGe no Kitaro, and Arion, to name a few).
The rest have yet to be released on CD…
So far, here are the current Hi-Tech albums I know of that have also yet to be released publicly on the internet:
-Arion
-CAT’S EYE
-GeGeGe no Kitaro
-Orguss
-Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross
That’s about it, I guess. If anybody has a complete list of the albums in the series to keep track of which ones have/haven’t been uploaded here,
it’d be nice to post the list here.
Anyways, I’ll start off by uploading my copy of an album in this series that hasn’t been released on CD yet:
Holmes Hi-Tech
Ripped by me in FLAC
https://mega.nz/#F!70Ei2C4C!9sfMiEINl9RRcqFFwFd5yQ
Includes remix tracks of several songs from the TV show and the short film versions.
I do not have it, unfortunately. I do plan on buying it in the future though
Laputa,
Nausicaa,
tonari no totoro,
creamy mami
and a "best of " of all the released material. A compilation called "Animage Hi Tech Series Parade of Animation"
Now that I point these…. there were really little releases. Very little catalog. Some Hi-Tech are very crappy. I think Kiki’s was boring as shit. Magical Emy and cats eyes are amazing. and so far, those are my favorite.
I thought you had Orguss Hi Tech.
oh and thanks fro the holmes thing π
You should not refer to these albums as Remixes. They are arrange albums. not remixed albums.

Haven’t gotten Orguss yet. Another user from another forum told me he was going to get it but I haven’t heard anything from him so far.
What’s the difference between a remix album and an arrangement album?
A remix is a piece of media which has been altered from its original state by adding, removing, and/or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new.
Arrangement
In music, an arrangement is a musical reconceptualization of a previously composed work. It may differ from the original work by means of reharmonization, melodic paraphrasing, orchestration, or development of the formal structure. Arranging differs from orchestration in that the latter process is limited to the assignment of notes to instruments for performance by an orchestra, concert band, or other musical ensemble. Arranging "involves adding compositional techniques, such as new thematic material for introductions, transitions, or modulations, and endings…. Arranging is the art of giving an existing melody musical variety".

Also, synths on the 80ts, were like the heavy metal of electronic music. The madness in the arranging ideas and some, somewhat aggressive, made stand out so much. 80ts was awesome to live in japan in this kind of music.
I recently saw "The Fog" from John Carpenter, and he usually makes the soundtrack to his own movies, and even him does not leave his synthesizers behind. My point is, me being a great horror musical mood enthusiast, synthesizers used for this genre, were just mind blowing.
Ps: "Prince of Darkness" is for me John Carpenter’s best soundtrack.
PS2: "Escape from L.A." was heavily influenced on Kuniaki Haishima signature sound, and he arranged and borrow some cues from that soundtrack to his "Legends of Devilman" image album.
I don’t know when, though…I have other "priority" albums that I’m getting first π
Creamy Mami (sorry for the skips, but if anyone’s curious to what’s on this album here it is) http://www.mediafire.com/file/7uj0csn8cdumigk/CreamyMami_HiTech.zip
Magical Emi (this one’s not my rip but a re-upload from a few years ago) http://www.mediafire.com/file/97ha13ab30077vh/MAGICAL_EMI_-_H_I_%E2%96%B8_T_E_C_H__%5B25AGL-3014%5D.zip
Hope that helps!
