WOW, these sound awesome! I’ve heard this game ripped plenty of times and none have ever sounded this good. They’ve usually always been conversions of the sound files. I just read your Technical Info in the readme for the FLAC files and reading the process you went through to get these in such awesome quality is amazing. I even have the Jazz 1&2 album that was put out a few years ago by ‘Game Music Bundle’ and this is up there with that. This just completes the sound files for the game! Thanks a million for sharing! Looking forward to Part 2!

After some thorough testing and comparing to the S3M/IT version and also the other .flac rips on ffshrine, I’ve got to admit, I think it’s the best sounding rip out there! 🙂
People who are nostalgic of the old .s3m sound might regret that the extreme panning effect is gone, but I really prefer this version!
I can’t wait for Jazz Jackrabbit 2! 🙂

And btw, like somebody mentioned, I had the bundle of Jazz Jackrabbit 1 + 2 too, in .flac format.
It was good for the trash, the music was compressed to the maximum… (LOUDNESS WAR syndrome strikes again!) (>_<)

Interestingly, this game doesn’t seem to have the extreme panning that other tracker music does. Looking at the files in epictest, the channels are always panned to +-63 (the maximum is 127). Besides that, the channels are often set to MIDDLE or SURROUND mode, making the panning meaningless. I guess someone at Epic must have been a headphone user.

Thanks! Both Jazz Jackrabbit games are available on GOG now (as of yesterday). I bought them today, and they’re fantastic! The soundtrack is downright amazing. 🙂
