Artists actually have the option to include a downloadable file, usually lossless, but for whatever reason many composers don’t do this.

Shame. Sorry It’s Not Higher, Wish It Was. Its A Fun Little 20 Mins. I Am Glad to Have It With All The Songs I Manged To Compile.

Most composers, themselves, don’t know much about file formats or bitrates.

A few I talked to, think that .wma (Windows Media Audio) is the most sought after format.

Since a service like SoundCloud depends on whoever is managing it to know what they’re doing, most who do manage it are only thinking of limited bandwidth (dial-up users; of which there are a lot, even in this day and age).

Very few, official, members have WAVE downloads.
And, when they do, they are limited to a certain number of free downloads before a Premium subscription is required.
Which is too much for any band. As far as they’re concerned, if you can hear it, that’s fine and dandy.

But, i say this:
Times need to change.
Times to need to accomodate lossless venues if downloads are involved.
If streaming is involved, go AAC. At least, you’ll get more information out of it.

SoundCloud streams at 128kbps, right? It’s not too bad, I guess, but they could definitely do with making it higher.
I’m just happy when I download a song directly from SoundCloud and it’s 1k+mbps. Lovely.

I’ve seen the first episode of this – I may revisit it if the score is good.

The ones you trust are the ones who offer .wav to you.
Take the WAV and fix the universe.
There’s loopholes to everything.

In most cases, they had no idea what they were doing when they did such edits or music. Or uploading.
So they made everything freely available to them. To them, WMP is the only thing on their PC that’s free and arleady there. :rolleyes:
