What exactly is this? An exact film mix as heard in the film? All cues crossfade and play as they’re heard? Silences have been removed? Inserts have been put into place? You really gotta give an explanation on this. Not just a giant-ass track list slapped with a half-assed cover, no offense. I’m the guy known for film edits around here and I was planning on doing both DH (more so pt. 2 cause it’s my favorite), but I decided not to because the ones that have been posted are 320k transcodes from 128k. So what’s the quality of this one?

Look at the spectograms.

You can only tell so much with spectrograms.

Lossy encoding these decades are more decieving than those from 1,000 years.

For a few builds now, LAME mp3 encoder has disabled lowpass cut off.

The DH1 sessions are real 320kbps. I can’t speak for the leak on this forum, but they exist in real 320KBPS. I imagine this would be what you describe, Dak, as the sessions for DH1 make a film edit easy to make.

I wouldn’t do a film edit of something as major as DH unless I had it in FLAC.

I can’t be bothered with FLAC because of its size…

Yeah but then if you do it in MP3 it’s gonna sound like shit cause you’re always gonna lose quality when editing files. That’s why it’s best to start with the highest and work from there, rather than work with 320k and have it end up sounding like 64k lol

My film edits of Angels & Demons, Oblivion and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory all were available in FLAC. If they weren’t, I wouldn’t have made them. And that’s what I’m waiting for here.

Those are like 128kbps, if even that.

"The Tunnel" is mixed with the very end of "The Bank" and "Courtyard Apocalypse" is a few seconds shorter, but other than that how much could be done to make it a "film mix"? I can’t recall many cues that might crossfade.

It’s hopeless. We’re missing film versions of Goblin by the Sea, Neville and Battlefield, Harry Not Dead, probably more.

Yes and we’re also missing the sword of Gryffindor cue (which is not the same as in DH1), Ron and Hermione looking for the room of requirement, the room of requirement (can be edited with a part of the Gringotts music) and a few others…
