to listen to, inasmuch as appreciate, the melodies (and sound

As one who’s been to WDW over 30 times in my life, I’m more

My daughter became addicted to the Muppet show and the older movies, so I began purchasing/collecting all the Muppet music I could find.
But I couldn’t find this one. Occasionally I would scour the web looking for it – and then I came across this forum where a bunch of folks were talking about Muppets and viola! Someone had posted it. Then I asked myself … I wonder if there are Disney related threads on here … and it was all down hill from there 🙂
I know that this album was not produced by Disney at the time, but since the Muppets are now part of the Disney cannon, I feel it’s warranted …
Plus, I can vouch for how hard it is to find this album … 😛

The Silly Symphony Collection is a first-of-its-kind box set from Walt Disney Records and Fairfax Classics featuring the complete restored soundtracks from all 75 Silly Symphony shorts from 1929-1939, with more than 8 hours of music over 16 vinyl LPs.
The limited edition collection is housed in 8 tip-on gatefold jackets with original animation art in a beautifully constructed foil-stamped and numbered slipcase. Soundtracks of Disney classics such as The Skeleton Dance by Carl Stalling, Three Little Pigs by Frank Churchill, and Donald Duck’s debut The Wise Little Hen by Leigh Harline will be presented in full for the first time ever on record. Each gatefold jacket includes detailed liner notes for every short by Disney historians J.B. Kaufman and Russell Merritt, authors of the definitive book on the series, Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies: A Companion to the Classic Cartoon Series.

Here is the same music track taken from the 1991 Official album ripped at 320 for a comparison.

Yes, looks the same as the first post. I have never used Windows Media player to rip a CD and that may be the issue. itunes works fine for ripping and it’s free but you will need to change the settings for high quality to rip as 320. Here is a web page that tells you how to change the default settings if you wanted to try. Make iTunes Import CD Tracks as High Quality MP3 (http://www.groovypost.com/howto/rip-high-quality-mp3-itunes/)

I have that Swanee River track on my 2005 Official Album of Disneyland and the track seems to be pretty high quality. I just think it could either be Windows Media Player or that the actual track on the disk was bad quality. Probably be good to just encode it using iTunes. For me I would probably use Exact Audio Copy.

I’ve ripped music into V0 VBR and sometimes it’s not much difference between a 320kbps CBR but when you look at Spek you can tell the difference.
Yes, before you go crazy ripping you should always, always rip lossless (FLAC) or as an AIFF/WAV file. You can always downconvert it to mp3 320 later. If you’re ripping the actual CD there’s no reason not to rip it that way. EAC like tdmagic recommended is great! Anyone tempted to rip at 320 or 192 mp3, don’t. Rip and share here in FLAC. Anyone can downcovert it to 320 or 192 mp3 if they choose. As you go down from Lossless to 320 to mp3 to 192 you are loosing quality. 320 isn’t as much lost but 192 is bad. Avoid at all costs. Don’t try to upconvert from 192 to 320 to Lossless. It doesn’t work that way and you can always tell that was done.

DisneyChris once warned people here, a month or two ago, that that set was highly watched out by Disney, that they want it to not be pirated and they’d do anything to take it down and have the uploader face the consequences.. which basically means.. so far there’s no download links and you may not see them.

Well why do you have an issue with FLAC? If you don’t mind us asking. It does seem rather silly to have an issue with people requesting it. ALAC is fine, still lossless. People are increasingly wanting lossless. You don’t seem to care for that a whole lot. It makes sense that when people ask for a copy of a sound track from CD to want an exact copy of it and not a compressed, lossy version of it. It’s not much to ask. Same for vinyl rips, it’s not much to ask for a lossless version. If people want to compress it later they can. It’s perfectly fair asking for a lossless version. If it was released on CD, there should be a lossless version of it. One always exists for that. I understand if something isn’t able to available in lossless or is only available in lossy. In those cases it can’t hurt to put a disclaimer "Lossless version does not exists" so people don’t ask for what isn’t available.
FLAC takes up more space and takes longer to upload. One can politely inquire if there is a lossless version but one does not demand, even politely, for a lossless version from the uploader. Be happy with what you have and if you want more then either find someone else or do it yourself. Esteemed posters like Mr Gold are taking time out of their own schedule to provide a service VOLUNTARILY. Asking for more is like going to a Costco and asking for the entire shipment for free at the samples table.

Most Of The Files I Look For Around The Net, Or Get From Other Sites A Visit (When I Find A Collection I Think "I Wonder If They Would Like It?" So I Post It), Some From Other Contatcs On Over Sites. So I Upp What I Have, My Server Is Super Slow. It Takes About An Hour to Up 100MB For A FLAC Album Would Take Ages. Pointless. As I Said I Up What I have, Those Who Have Physical CDS Can Mirror To Lossless I Always Said This, I Am Okay With It. Nothing Wrong With A FLAC & MP3 That Way Either Prefrence Is Covered.
Alot Of The Parks Music (Custom Made Collections Not to Easy to Find Other Than MP3) I Have Upped Some M4A Files From My Physical CDs, But It Takes A Long Time, If I Can I Do.
Another Problem Was People Used to Claim I Stole Collections Already Posted, After The Problems With The Original Thread And All The Links Dieng I Used to Re-Up The For People Who Missed/New People. But I Constantly Got Attacked On The Threads Or Via PM About It. I Posts These And Re-Ups For Everyone To Enjoy, I Don’t Seek Rewards Or Money.. (Although When A nother Person Ups Something I Don’t Have I Am Very Greatful) I Do It To Share The Love of the Music. The Whole Situation On That Thread Was Stupid, I Never Wanted People to Feel That. I Just Wanted to Help By Re-Uplaoding The Files, But People Started to Hate Me (I Still Don’t Understand Why)

I understand that FLAC takes up more space and takes longer to upload. It is an exact copy of a CD. Anything else is a compromised, lossy version which is unacceptable unless a lossless version is unavailable. You seem to be under the misconception that asking for lossess is asking for too much. That’s what should be the standard provided format here. Who would want anything less than exact copy? That’s not acceptable. Like I said, I understand if for unofficial releases that’s all that’s available. I would have hoped the vinyl rippers themselves would shared something better than a 320 mp3 but it is what it is.

Alot Of The Parks Music (Custom Made Collections Not to Easy to Find Other Than MP3) I Have Upped Some M4A Files From My Physical CDs, But It Takes A Long Time, If I Can I Do.
Another Problem Was People Used to Claim I Stole Collections Already Posted, After The Problems With The Original Thread And All The Links Dieng I Used to Re-Up The For People Who Missed/New People. But I Constantly Got Attacked On The Threads Or Via PM About It. I Posts These And Re-Ups For Everyone To Enjoy, I Don’t Seek Rewards Or Money.. (Although When A nother Person Ups Something I Don’t Have I Am Very Greatful) I Do It To Share The Love of the Music. The Whole Situation On That Thread Was Stupid, I Never Wanted People to Feel That. I Just Wanted to Help By Re-Uplaoding The Files, But People Started to Hate Me (I Still Don’t Understand Why)
I Used to Say Requests Were Welcome If They Could Be Answered They Were, But It Started to Get A Little Silly. People Were Requesting Like 10 Albums At Once, And Asking For Stuff Already Up, Or Can You Move A File From Zippy to MEGA (For Example)
Sorry For My Behavior I Suffer Very Deep Depression And Makes Me Feel Awful And I Do Lash Out Here, But I Don’t Mean It. Really. I don’t see anything unreasonable about asking for a FLAC version of something that’s already been posted. It can be edited into the original post. The only thing unacceptable is your entitled attitude. That you think asking someone in the manner which you have is not too much proves it. Keep in mind, THEY ARE THE ONE UPLOADING. You can ask but don’t expect them to be subservient to YOUR needs. You seem to be under the misconception that uploaders should follow a standard or that you have the right to aggressively ask them to follow your standards. You are in no position to demand or claim that others HAVE to upload only in FLAC because it’s the gold standard. I’ll upload something in 96kbps if it so pleases me. It’s my upload, my time spent, and if you want higher, you either beg politely (especially without whining about why people don’t upload in lossless to begin with), find one elsewhere that suits your needs, or do it yourself (i.e. to the person who PM’ed me asking for lossless, good luck finding a lossless version of source audio for the music to the Diamond Celebration Disneyland Forever fireworks show, I know the some of the cast members in the audio dept at DL and I had to get my rip elsewhere). Who would want to go above and beyond to appease a little ungrateful shit like you? Mr. Gold may be polite enough to address you politely, but having just read all your 6 posts, none of which is a contribution or even a thank you btw, you really are a piece of work. It’s ungrateful and spoiled people like you who drive contributors like Mr. Gold away. And that gets me angry, especially if their uploads happen to expire or get removed.

Sorry to say, none of that is source or even 320 kbps as the metadata says. Sounds like low-quality inductions. Please don’t try to pass off tracks as something they’re way too obviously not.

Well….I have it….SADC directly ripped from the HD tracks of the blu-ray 3D ultimate directors cut fanmade Japan limited and numbered collectors edition which came together with a working model of the Disneyland Monorail only available in Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Hong Kong, Disneyland Tokyo and only at Mondays and by full moon for people who stands in line for at least 9 hours.

It’s also very apparent that somebody has done some EQ processing on these files.

My concern isn’t audio quality. My concern is passing something off as something it isn’t.
The bootlegged material has gone through multiple iterations over the years and I for one, am just glad it exists at all. Most of the old park recordings were hardly sonic achievements to begin with. For film scores, different story of course. But with most of the Disney Park stuff, we work with what we have. If you don’t like it, delete it from your collection. It’s comments like this that encouraged some great users Merida just mentioned to go elsewhere.
