In case you were not aware, James Horner secretly wrote the score for Antoine Fuqua’s 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven! What amazing news! I am ecstatic and emotional right now. I only hope that they give it to someone trustworthy to interpret and fit to the picture. I think David Newman would be a prime candidate since he conducted the Vienna concert. Otherwise, I would choose Joel McNeely or John Debney.
Again, I’m thrilled to hear that we will be able to partake of at least one more glorious, orchestral Horner score and I wanted to make sure I shared this information. 🙂

Did you watch Movie Talk this week? He wrote the entire score based on the screenplay. I was shocked and extremely happy to hear this. I think the entire thing should be used in memory of Horner. The people who heard it said it was "glorious"
I did watch. And I agree with what was said. If it fits the film, great. If it can be adapted to fit the film, great. But if it doesn’t work (which wouldn’t be any fault of Horner’s considering he hadn’t seen ANYTHING of the film yet) then they shouldn’t use the score JUST because it was Horner’s. Also even if it’s "glorious" doesn’t mean it will actually fit the film… We’ll see what happens.
