Hi guys!

I’m an avid fan of game/film music and this place is heaven for anyone that likes to collect music. I’ve leeched here for some time now, but never had anything worthwhile to share with you guys!
I recently bought some OST’s with i.Tunes and I would very much like to give back to the Forums, but I got a couple of questions regarding this.

1; What is the preffered up/download page people like to use? (I personally like ‘MEGA’ and/or Zippy)
2; Since I bought these from i.Tunes, what is the best conversion method to MP3/FLAC
3; Is it really safe to share these from i.Tunes? Are there things I need to look out for?

I hope someone could help me out with these, it would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

1) mega and zippy are good. or mediafire, but MF links could go down fast.

2) don’t convert the iTunes AAC to anything else.
It’s a lossy format. Converting to another lossy format (MP3) would destroy more data.
Converting to FLAC is useless since the originals are lossy.

3) Since it’s iTunes, it will have your email included in the metatags.
It might also include your email in the file itself (not metadata) only visible with a binary editor.
I don’t do much in terms of iTunes shares so whatever method I know of to strip identities from the iTunes files is outdated.
There should be simpler ways to strip ID information from the metadata as well as the binary file itself.

About 3, to delete the data information without modify the audio file, I use AIMP 3 (russian audio player with his own track editor). Shitty software like Tag&Rename alter the file adding milliseconds of void at the beginning and the end of the track, so technically it’s a recompression and not a re-tagging. With AIMP 3 if you have a track that his lenght is 5:28.293 (no matter the format), after the re-tagging the lenght remains the same, 5:28.293. This can be checked opening the file with an audio software.

There are many methods to do this, but this is mine.

If you have foobar installed, then you should be able to edit the email out. Just right click the file[s], click on Properties at the bottom, and remove the desired info from the "Comment" section. Easy-peasy.
