Amplifying multiple files with Audacity

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a fast way to amplify multiple tracks with Audacity. The intension is to amplify every individual track using Audacity’s suggestion – the level that pops up when you select the whole file and choose Amplify. In other words, I’m okay with every track being amplified using different levels, it just has to go quickly. Is this possible?

I believe if you import every track you want to amplify at once into Audacity, Press CTRL+A and use the amplify plugin it’ll do them all? Don’t quote me on that.

Apply gain while protecting against clipping.

It will be more efficient as you get protection against clipping, which is vital.

Foobar2000 is a foobar to understand and I would NEVER use it as a media organizer, but for stuff like this it is one of the best products out there. I use it quite a bit for stuff I get from this forum because people do some really weird stuff with filenames and metadata.

It’s also exceptional when converting from FLAC to MP3. MP3 encodng is single threaded, so for many programs it processes each file sequentially and it takes a while. Foobar2000 does all the files at the same time, so while each one may be single threaded, it’s doing a lot of them at the same time, if you have the processing power.

I do not use the program often, but for what I use it for I completely recommend it.
