Riz Ortolani: THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE & WOMAN TIMES SEVEN – New DSD remasters FLAC

THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE is one of my favourite movies and in addition to the top notch cast, one of the film’s greatest assets is the musical score by Riz Ortolani, which includes "Forget Domani", one of the biggest international pop hits of the 1960s. As was the custom in the 1960s the MGM album is a re-recording with a smaller ensemble than was used on the actual soundtrack but Kenny Baker’s trumpet solo in "Mae" is duplicated as well as the fantastic vocals by Ortolani’s wife, Katyna Ranieri.

Not nearly as successful as The Yellow Rolls Royce, WOMAN TIMES SEVEN, released 2 years later, also featured an excellent, tuneful score by Riz Ortolani. The Capitol Records soundtrack album went out of print rather quickly after the film’s poor critical and financial reception.

THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE & WOMAN TIMES SEVEN are presented here in new DSD remasters, not from LPs, but from � track stereo reel to reel tapes and the sound is significantly improved over my earlier 16 bit transfers from LP sources. THE YELLOW ROLLS ROYCE tracks are programmed differently than the LP, with the instrumental score presented first and the vocal segments afterwards.
WOMAN TIMES SEVEN’s purely instrumental tracks are in the identical order as the Capitol LP version.

just yesterday I was mentioning here that the yellow rolls royce was one of my favourite main themes, and stevie being the gent that he is went and did this transfer just for me (or thats what I’d like to think)
