Fair Enough

Finished watching the film last night. Pretty good, I must say, although I think it’s one of the most violent films I’ve seen. I’m not the kind for violent movies, but this was ok. The score was also pretty good from what I heard. "Brothers In Arms" is simply awesome. I might download this and then if I like it buy it. It’d be nice to finally use the cover I made for DAK and Lockdown!

Was this deluxe edition only available as a digital download?

Well I Sat And Listened I Am Still Not Sold On This…. But Have Kept Eventually It Might Win Me Round.

No problem if its not for you Mr Gold… most people just don’t seem to get that different people have different tastes, but I actually really like this score… at first I thought it was just excitement created by the film that kept me listening to it, but I put it on again recently and have had it on repeat every since. While there are no tracks that could satisfy me quite like something from the mind of Goldsmith, early-Elfman, early-Williams or early-Zimmer would, it still has some pleasing themes and enjoyable rhythmic percussion work, and it just fits the film so damn well that I would have to say it is one of the best scores of the year!

If you don’t mind a lot of fairly bloody violence, it’s phenomenal. Unbelievably brilliant from a filmmaker’s perspective particularly. The majority of the effects were practical, not CGI.

Parts of the score are equally awesome – "Brothers In Arms" being the standout cue for me. I heard it before I’d seen the film and absolutely loved it. The next track "The Chase" is great too. "My Name Is Max" is beautiful.

Can’t forget "Chapter Doof" there, Sulley.

I decapitate zombies in video games. I can handle a bit of blood and gore! :p

I don’t really listen to the album as a whole, all the way through. I find a some of the cues a little too samey and loud, but there are gems in there. And I listen to those regularly. 🙂

It shouldn’t take you that long to fall in love with ASM2. Just listen to:

etc, etc, etc.

None of the above contain Electro’s theme. I think that’s what puts a lot of people off the score, which is a pity because it’s absolutely amazing.

I don’t blame him. Poor guy.
