I just want to post a quick message to everybody on the forums. This will probably make you cringe and this is about the time you clicked off of it, but I wanted to pull this message through anyway.
I joined Shrine more or less this time last year, looking for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty score. I downloaded it, and a few days later, I found that a certain SkeletonMan had uploaded a full rip of the LEGO Movie. That was when I started searching the forums and thought "Wow, this place looks great". I signed up, messaged SkeletonMan, and I finally got what I had been looking for for a long, long time – the LEGO Movie’s full ripped score. Let’s just say I was a very happy guy that day.
Ok, so, I’m 14. Believe what you want, but that’s the case. I fell in love with film and game music when I played Prince of Persia on the PS2, and ever since then I have been a regular on the Ultimate Collection thread for the games, doing the best I can to remove voices from the unextractable cutscenes.
I don’t want this to be too long, but I just wanted to say thank-you to everybody on the forums who have helped me understand more about music. Before I joined here, I had never heard of FLAC, had no idea what "lossless" meant, and didn’t know the first thing about bitrates, but people on here have helped me develop a much better understanding of the beauty of music, and I thank you all for that.
And my iTunes would be a lot emptier if I’d never found this treasure trove. I’m so glad I did. 🙂
😀
Honestly looking back I can’t stand that rip; too many SFX. I should have just done an "expanded". But I’m glad you liked it!
What I like about this place is that the people here actually care about the music they share, as opposed to this being just another warez site with uploaders sharing links to whatever the hell they found on KickAss torrents.
I’ve learned more about the technical side of music and frankly some of it has blown my mind.
As Sulley said, my music library is amazingly huge thanks to the great guys here.

it’s never too early or too late to tell someone "thank you" =)
I wanted to say thank-you to Mr. Horner for creating beautiful music, but it’s too late.
Indeed. Same here.
I’ll just thank everyone for the music and the company.
And SillySlurpuff for kicking this lovefest of a thread off.
I too am glad that (most) people here care for the music. That’s what it’s all about, right? And because of that, I know some people on here who have met others in person. I’ll be doing that in August and I’m looking forward to it. Never thought I’d meet someone from the internet simply because of our love for film music, but it’s happening.
This place has definitely been an eye opener, I will say that much.
i disagree 🙂
The universe does not waste energy. And positive energy like this is never wasted either, in my belief, not for Horner either.
This energy will reach him somehow, too.
a sweet idea for a thread. Threads like these help to keep the balance to others…
So a big thank you to the various & many people here that have given that to me, that much I can certainly say!
