Kenyon Hopkins – The Hustler (1961 / 2015) [FLAC]
NOTES
This release contains the digitally remastered scores of 3 movies featuring Paul Newman. “The Hustler” (1961) composed by Kenyon Hopkins, “Paris Blues” (1961) composed by Duke Ellington & Billy Strayhorn and “The Long Hot Summer” (1958) composed by Alex North. They have been shared on this forum in various capacities. The biggest surprise for me was the jazzy score of Alex North, really good! The booklet contains interesting information about the films, in particular the feud between Director Martin Ritt and Orson Welles during the shooting of “The Long, Hot Summer”. It is a shame that Jazz is no longer an option for scoring films nowadays.
