A STAR IS BORN Judy Garland 1954 ST – New 60th Anniversary Remix/Remaster

September 29th, 2014 marked the 60th Anniversary of the world premi�re engagement of A STAR IS BORN in Los Angeles, California, one of the first Hollywood premieres to be covered live on television. In honour of this very special event I have compiled a new mix of the film’s soundtrack score, including a combination of stereo & monaural song elements plus monaural source and underscore cues, all programmed for the best possible listening experience as a Cast Album, rather than a mere souvenir of the film (although you certainly can enjoy it as such). I have made several editorial decisions which some of you may find controversial. I have restored the outtake song “When My Sugar Walks Down the Street” back into the “Born in A Trunk” sequence in its approximate position in the number and “Gotta have Me Go with You” is presented in its more complete and less intrusive Columbia soundtrack album version. Also I have assembled a finale made up of Judy Garland’s iconic last words in the film and a seven minute summation of themes similar to what is done today with the end credits on most modern films. I hope you find it to your liking. This mix is not only in honour of the film but also its star, Judy Garland, a one of a kind entertainer who only comes around perhaps once in a millennium.
