Update Aug 16, 2018: I have added the new dialog found in the game from 5.6 through 5.9. This includes 12 new dialog collections: newest alliance alerts, Yavin Ruins wz, copero FP, nathema FP, and the rest of the GotM barks.
Update Aug 7, 2018: I checked the game files to see if any new music tracks have been added in from 5.1 to 5.9. There is nothing new except 9 new ambient SFX "music" tracks. I will not be posting these until new actual music is added.
Update: Oct 18, 2017: My next project has been added to this page. I have added a link to the collection of all the English and Alien dialog found in the game files. You can find the link below.
Update: Feb 9, 2017: New music tracks extracted from Update 5.0. This includes 92 new music tracks and 31 ambient SFX tracks. Most of the music tracks have files names, although 23 of the music tracks are not identified.
Updated Sept 6, 2016: New music tracks added to the "SWTOR 4.0 – 4.7" zip file. This includes 117 additional unique tracks which were added to the game files throughout the chapters of game update 4.1 through 4.7. I also created a separate zip file for just the ambient sfx tracks. Those aren’t actually music, so I imagine most people don’t want to list to ambient wind sounds and such.
Update Oct 31, 2015 : Happy Halloween! I have uploaded the new music from Game Update 4.0. You can find it in the list of files below. Game Update 4.0 includes 115 new music tracks along with 38 ambient SFX tracks (wind, engine sounds, etc). Feel free to reply and post any info you have on describing where the music is from in the game, such as from a Star Fortress, etc. I will be happy to re-upload the files at some point with more organization. I plan to update my Excel file someday. Anyway, back to the regular post…
This is the post that many people may have been waiting for… or at least some people. I have ripped all of the music from SWTOR (just like the other two posts have done) which includes all ogg files from streamed A b and C. Except I have gone a step further and have given almost all of the files a more proper file name. These file names are much like the file names that were used in the beta version of the game. With these new file names, it is easier to find the music you might be looking for. For example battle music is typically named action_highintesity_[somename] while the flashpoint/pvp/ops loading music is typically named action_lowinstensity_[somename].
In the case where the file names are the same I numbered them based upon the file’s duration in descending order (the longest music track being number 1 and so on)
Facts about the music rip (Updated on 9/6/2016 for SWTOR 4.7):
1553 total music files
1136 files have been renamed
including 7 tracks that were deleted from SWTOR 3.2 but were found in game version 2.8 – 3.0.
SWTOR 1.x Part 1 – all files renamed
SWTOR 1.x Part 2 – all files renamed
SWTOR 2.0 – 3.0 – 27 files renamed

been waiting a long time for something like this to be workable.
thanks for the work.
I gave the .ogg files tags. However, I chose to not convert them to .mp3 because I wasn’t sure of a bit rate which would make everyone happy and not take forever to upload.

I’ve extracted the music from the game again to get the new Ziost background music. I’m currently shifting through all the music again to see what’s new if anything. On another side note, it seems that bioware has reorganized the music that was once found in music_media.bnk, and has since added them into the 3 streamed .tor files instead. I will also update my Excel sheet accordingly when I’m all done.
And the soundtrack is daaaamn good. Especially the music with the duel with a certain person, in chapter 8. (no spoilers)
We need it extracted <3

No doubt about that. There are some nice additions to the soundtrack.
As an update, there are also lots of duplicates now. If you guys recall from the patch notes from 3.3, they claim to have normalized the sound on the background music to make it sound better. Well, in actuality, all they did was make another version of the music file and recompress that one. So, I’m going through them, comparing them, choosing to just keep the originals in their original form, deleting all of the re-released tracks BW made. There is also around 20 tracks of "music" which are just ambient sounds such as star ship engines, alarms, and just general windy sounds.

By the way, did i miss it, or the chapter 8 duel theme against THAT person (again, no spoilers) is not in the rar you provided ? 🙁
I haven’t noticed any new music in 4.1-4.6. Have you heard anything new? I’ve noticed that they replay older music mixed with newer 4.0 music in most new story scenes, kinda like what they did with the Alliance base music… So, I was going to wait until 5.0 drops.
It seems to be like what they did with the Starfighter music. That was released with the space PVP in 2.5, but they inserted it into other areas of the game that use generic "action" music, like The Black Hole.
I’m not totally sure what you mean. There has been lots of music added since 1.0. This is what I have posted in this thread:
With the release of 2.0, they added new music for Makeb.
With the release of 2.4, they added new music for Oricon (only 4 tracks that I recall). DF/DP use these tracks, along with re-using some of the 1.0 tracks (Nefra, and Corrupter Zero for example use 1.0 music).
With the release of 2.5, they added new music for Starfighter. This music was more synthesized than previous music. It was also added into the rest of the game, a few patches afterward. Now that music seems to be used in their rotation of generic action music. You can hear it on The Black Hole as an example.
With the release of 2.7-2.10, they mainly re-used KOTOR tracks, along with a few new original tracks. They are mainly heard in the Forged Alliances flashpoints.
With the release of 3.0, new music was added. Rishi and Yavin background music. Rav and TOS operation music.
With the release of 3.2, new music was added. It all relates to the Ziost story as far as I remember.
With the release of 4.0, new music was added. You can hear it on Zakul or in the Star Fortresses. While the Alliance base’s background music is just replays mostly of the memorable themes from the 1.0 planets.
For example, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns expansion is notorious for having full uncut Geonosis Arena battle track, while in the OST for Episode 2 it was heavily cut down.
Also regarding hearing new music, I don’t play TOR so I can’t tell you. I only like the music of the game, the concept of a WoW-clone theme park styled MMO doesn’t appeal to me. I’m still upset about SWG being destroyed first with CU and NGE updates and then being completely shut down.

I think there are people who have started up their own Galaxies servers. Interestingly enough I can still download and install it from Steam from my purchases.
There is a work in progress SWGEmu server but it’s still far from even remotely playable, needs a ton of work to be viable. At the rate they’re going they will need at least 3 more years to have basic Pre-CU experience going.
As for Steam, yeah Steam doesn’t remove content you paid for from your library unless it is explicit wish of the publisher which hasn’t ever happened to date outside of one very specific game (Order of War Challenge).
Sorry, but I was not one the people selected to try out the 4.0 PTS, so I was not able to download those data files. I think the same is true with 5.0. The people who got the to try the first beta PTS were able to hear MIDI placeholders.
There seems to be plenty of new music as evidenced from this Soundcloud page (https://soundcloud.com/jedipedia/sets/swtor-kotet-soundtrack). And this one (https://soundcloud.com/jedipedia/sets/swtor-kotet-cantina-music). And this one (https://soundcloud.com/jedipedia/sets/swtor-kotet-music) too.
You’re in luck! I wanted to know this myself, and I took the time to do it. (I have no idea why. This took a lot of time.) I’ll add it to the spreadsheet. I also have a list of all the tracks from KotOR that were used…to the best of my knowledge. The majority of cues from KotOR saga are taken from the sequel, which in my opinion, did have better music, but KotOR has some gems as well.
I also started making notes about when the music in the game plays, but this was too tedious and overwhelming so I abandoned it. I might go back one day and fill in the missing OT track names though. I noticed quite a few familiar ones that I couldn’t believe weren’t identified.
And thank you twcool for taking the time to do this. The game’s score is beautiful!!! ^_^b Now if only there was an HQ version of all the original music…
Well, looks like the spreadsheet is locked. Should I just post it in the thread?
First off, the spreadsheet is locked to editing so people didnt accidentally delete something, but I can open it up for everyone to edit at this point. Try this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CjtyHaNKQaw5pJQHx2jhVnAumctUKXxQnTsx-UVBk5w/edit?usp=sharing
Secondly, I have re-ripped the music tracks post 5.0. I am in the process of comparing the music and figuring out what is new and what is a repeat. The process takes longer with each expansion, since there is no new hash text file that I am aware of. The problem is that I’m torn between grinding my CXP and working on the music project lol. As of 5.0, there are now 998 music files that are not in the hash list which was last updated in 2.0 as far as I know.
I will post the new music on here and on my reddit thread whenever I get to it.
PART 1 – ORIGINAL RELEASE
PART 2 – THE HUTT CARTEL (AND ONWARD)
PART 3 – FALLEN EMPIRE (AND ONWARD)
PART 4 – ETERNAL THRONE (AND ONWARD)
These are good, but where’s the rest of the images? Surely they would fit when scaled down. However, my biggest problem with these covers is the score had many composers (http://blog.tracksounds.com/2009/12/star-wars-old-republic-composers.html). (Can’t find original article. >_<) Jesse Harlin was the music supervisor. I’m not sure if this means he composed any of the pieces though:
Jesse Harlin – Music Supervisor
Mark Griskey – Lead composer
Lennie Moore
Gordy Haab
Wilbert Roget, II
Peter McConnell – Cantina music
I’m not sure if they were all involved beyond vanilla SWTOR, but please revise the covers to honor all those that contributed to this fantastic score. We should find out if any of them composed any of the music in any of the expansions as well. I also feel like Shadow of Revan should have its own cover, so there would be one for every version number.
I’m sure the song is in the collection. Unfortunately some songs are re-used throughout the game and not just in one location, so it might not be with the other Tython tracks.
I suggest to try epicevent_general_set_relationshipmoment_01 – epicevent_general_set_relationshipmoment_04. Also, I’d try listening to the generic tracks like event_calmmoment_x and event_regalmoment_x or maybe background_calm (x)… sorry I cant be more help as I havent been on Tython recently.

I just thought I’d point out that the YouTube soundtrack (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9B4051A08A65C57B) has a track-by-track listing of who worked on which songs. Of course, those tracks don’t line up 1-to-1 with the game files, but they should still be useful. According to that soundtrack, Jesse Harlin did compose at least some music for the game. Also, besides Peter McConnell, there were two other composers for the cantina music: Jared Emerson-Johnson and Steve Kirk.

A many gratuitous and excited high fives would be given for proper cover artwork for all of the DLC albums, composers included.
Here I thought Mark Griskey was the primary composer on most of the scores…

A question about these files: is the next step an attempt to figure out which files belong to which expansion packs/DLCs, etc., and divide them up into some sort of identifiable set of track names and album covers?

I pretty much have them labeled as to which game update each music track is from. You can see that info in the Released column in my spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CjtyHaNKQaw5pJQHx2jhVnAumctUKXxQnTsx-UVBk5w/edit#gid=1853642584
As for dividing them up… I have decided that since Bioware re-uses music from 1.0 to 2.x and rehashes them into new files, but doesnt change them in 4.0… that makes things confusing. As an example, people might think the background music used when facing Nefra in The Dread Fortress is music that is from game update 2.4, but it’s actually just music from the 1.0 release.

Feel free to post any info you can offer for the unidentified file names which are from Game Update 2.7 or newer.
Id be happy to update the zip files as more info is provided.
Enjoy!
First, I have to say, thanks for posting the English dialogue files! Those really helped save me time when making class story trailers for TOR (Espically the one I made for my Editing class final). Also, Will you be uploading the music and dialogue from Patches 5.6-5.9? I am really wanting to get my hands on the music from the last three flashpoints.
I’m not sure yet. I was thinking of waiting until 6.0 is announced, and then I would extract the files, in case they plan a 5.10 update much like they did with 2.10.
Release should be fairly soon. Ish.
Edit: It seems they *are* higher quality tracks. It seems that getting the tracks from KOTOR1 and KOTOR2 with higher quality music might make for a great mod for those games. Just a thought.
I am probably gonna need a wee bit of help with 4.0.

Yeah, I think it was 1553 total music files, but only 1136 files have been renamed. The other file names are lost somewhere inside of the game’s data files. Sometime from when Bioware went from Beta to the official 1.0 release, they put the music track names into separate files from that of the actual music files. I know that SWTOR data miners are able to find those names, but it takes a lot of work.
The music names from 2.0 and 2.4 were actually made up by me based upon what I thought was right. So, it’s just a matter of doing that for the rest of the un-renamed music.

God, I feel so stupid. Haha. But, thanks! I’ve been working on a "complete" Soundtrack for the game (Separated by expansion), so the spreadsheet and files have been extremely helpful!
I wish you luck in your "complete" soundtrack. The part that I always found tricky was how they decided to re-use certain old music in new content. They tend to mix it in with other tracks as well.
Also, places like The Black Hole used to only play a certain collection of "action" music, but ever since 4.0 came out, they added the GSF action music into it’s rotation of music.
There is also a lot of cross-over of boss music from flashpoints and operations. For example, Soa, Malgus and the bounty hunters from KP all play the same boss music. I had plans to create mixes with the boss barks and the boss music. I think I completed 5-10 of them, and I stopped. I shall have to return to that someday.
Any possibility that you could post the mixes you’ve done so far?
Sure. I posted what I had completed to this mega folder:

Do people think that it’s worth continuing someday?

How much of KoTOR 1’s and 2’s music are included in TOR? Only a couple of tracks or anything substantial?
I like them. I wonder what you would do with Directive 7!

I know that there is KotOR I music (Mostly stuff from ingame, but a few of the cutscene music (Planetary arrival and depatures, some music from the end battles) are in the SWTOR 2.0 – 3.2 folder, I just haven’t had the time to go in and figure out which tracks belongs with which cutscene from K1.
EDIT (4/19/2019): Also, I have to assume there is more stuff from Dantooine added with the 5.10.3 PTS patch.
EDIT (4/19/2019): Also, I have to assume there is more stuff from Dantooine added with the 5.10.3 PTS patch.
I can’t find any of these in the main list.
Sadly, they aren’t. I only found them through listening to all the tracks in the SWTOR 2.0 – 3.2 folder – Unidentified – SWTOR 2.10 folder.
@twcool Will you be uploading stuff from 5.10 to 5.10.3?
I have plans to. I just havent got around to ripping the music again… then compare it to the 5.9 music rip and see what is new.
You’ll want to rip it before logging-in again. 6.0 came out today, and it definitely has some new music.
