Thanks man!!1
It sucked. SPOILER ALERT! Bryan Cranston’s character doesn’t even make it halfway through the film
the film did suck though !!! good score though
Loving this! I remember like 2 or 3 tracks not in the OST, looking forward what else I missed!
All the choir is in here.
You don’t have crappy tastes. I just think there was way too much hype over the film upon it’s release. I also had a horrible time because there was this annoying fat guy next to me laughing everytime Godzilla destroyed something. That was probably one of the majoy factors as to why I didn’t enjoy it. That, and the spoiler I mentioned above.
Eww. I say give it another chance, without distractions, and knowing that that spoiler was not the main dude in the whole thing 😀
Ooh, also, can anyone post a link for the eerie opera track used in the Halo jump? Because that one’s awesome!
The end credits were editorially created, as can be expected with Desplat’s films these days.
It’s a fairly solid Desplat score and if he does Godzilla 2 I would be very happy with that.
Yes, that’s the one, will look for it around, thanks for the name.

Well, I believe Grand Budapest, which earned him an Oscar yesterday, wasn’t like that. And the credits are around here anyways 😀
thanks
as an aside, I liked the movie enough
but it certainly had flaws, the primary one being lackluster human characters
The score is great and the movie is really outstanding!
Thanks a lot man! Never thought this would leak complete. There was so much good stuff missing from the OST, so this is MOST welcome!
I wouldn’t say negative. Just that the majority of moviegoers were upset that Godzilla himself doesn’t have much screentime. It’s the Jaws effect, but here people are used to seeing Godzilla all the way through.
I think that it was a good setup and it is vastly superior to the 1998 movie.
also yes the reinserted chorus is a nice addition to this soundtrack
allthough the one from ‘Two against One’ is its own separate track somehow
They didn’t really have anything new anyway, I thought. Isn’t it just a suite made from pieces that were available on the album anyway, with one exception (Titles Continued).
and this release makes the album tracks better anyway
I especially love the full version of Golden Gate Chaos
we still dont have the filmversion of the Muto Airport intro though
(strangely, when they released a sneakpeak of that scene, it used the music from the album
while in the movie it uses a more choral stinger as the Muto appears. Guess that means it was added way after sessions)

I think it was a sound effect.
I’ll be using it as my cover, if it helps.
I know the end credits are nothing special, but the bookend nicely and seem important for a "complete" score to have, as does the actual Halo jump. But that’s just me.
The pc’s at my clinic have a usb port. I used a memory stick to dl it and the cover. (thanks to a speedy Mega link). I am not supposed to but I was alone. :awsm:
could be the case yeah, something that was added in late anyway
I still feel like some Chorus is missing somewhere
during the Janjira scenes when they first see the Muto Cocoon
I still feel like some Chorus is missing somewhere

that was either tracked from the beginning of the film, or an alternate.
I actually prefer your cover.
I am gonna say it was tracked then, since it sounded a lot like what I heard after the opening
Yeah just looke at how many bits were silenced in the movie
Its Peter Jacksons Hobbitmovies all over again
They’re impossible to get. Rare trades went to zero when Pianofiles closed, and I’ve lost a contact who used to get good sheets. The site is back, and I know there’s people with the sheets, but they’re too rare to find. I do have the original cuesheets, thanks to Conrad Pope. Also, JoAnnKane released some Desplat suites for rent, and they have the main titles on Godzilla.
Thank you for the reply, sir! I’ll have to look into renting those. I had the honor of meeting Conrad a couple weeks ago, very humble and a surprisingly down to earth gentleman.
Yes, he is.
I was under the impression it was a different site…
The site is back under a different name, but they kept the database and users.
Much appreciate, my friend!!! 🙂
We are still missing many cues from Godzilla, mainly source cues though.

As a side note, I thought the film was pretty good, despite its flaws. I disliked the main character, but in my opinion Bryan Cranston and the epicness of Godzilla nuclear-vomiting into that Muto pretty much made up for it.
Regardless, you are a gentleman, Recording! I’ll be sure to like and add rep. 🙂
Also, random question here: what’s the difference between a complete score and recording sessions? Or an FYC? Are they interchangeable terms?
Requiem for Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, 2 Mixed Choirs and Orchestra
Written by Gyorgy Ligeti
The full track has two parts, and the first half is the best part with the creepy choir and sharp, eerie strings.
The second half is more or less just a beatbox version of creepy orchestra.
There are so many different versions of from different conductors, orchestras and formats of this requiem piece.
I only settled on getting on HD (24/48+) version of the Requiem.
It’s an SACD rip, I believe. I avoided any vinyl rips.
I still have not got around to re-upping anything (opening/end credits).
MEGA will be the last host I upload as there are too many DMCA takedowns.
I loved the film.
Breaking Bad was an awesome series, but that doesn’t make Bryan Cranston invincible or solid gold.
He’s still a great actor. He did a job in the film and served its purpose.
I think it’s more or less the principle characters that didn’t deliver so well (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen).
They were bland and didn’t express any real emotion. Sure, we still rooted for them because they were ultimately on Godzilla’s side.
The director isn’t well known for doing Pacific Rim rock-em-sockem flicks.
He likes to build up stories like origin stories.
Monsters (2010) has the very same pace, where we have the same "Jaws effect" of seeing the monster.
This specific Godzilla film is an origin story of some sorts. There could easily be more details thrown in about previous monsters.
The history can expand throughout the forthcoming trilogy.
I thought it was quite effective to hide Godzilla as much as possible.
I would never have gotten goosebumps every time he roared.
The second will be more like Pacific Rim (Destroy All Monsters). That should please audiences.
Thanks for the share.

Also, random question here: what’s the difference between a complete score and recording sessions? Or an FYC? Are they interchangeable terms?
They are not interchangeable terms.
Complete score is the final mix of the soundtrack score, with maybe alternate tracks, unused, etc.
Recording sessions are exactly that: recorded sessions of when they get together and record the score to see where they are at and how it works for them.
Most sessions we end up having are mostly the final picks they wanted to keep and work on before the complete score is finished.
Realistically, they could end up with 10 different recordings of the same cue/track.
With sessions, it’s normal for silences anywhere in the track (beginning, end, middle, etc).
It’s also very common for music to just stop dead at any time. This is because it will be mixed in with another cue from a different recording sesssion for the final mix.
FYC’s are more closer to the retail albums, with different mixes sometimes. Or tracks that have never been released before.
For consideration of voting for some flashy award.
FYC’s don’t normally exhibit the same choppy editing as recording sessions (long silences, abrupt endings, half-cues).
Although, lately, whoever is running some of the Guild sites are screwing things up for some tracks (whether by accident or on purpose; I mean, who’s really going to judge their vote on the sole basis of the FYC soundtrack being incomplete or anything?).
Thanks guys!

…the awesome music I was missing from the official soundtrack it’s here 😀
…I love Emmerich’s Godzilla. And what old school Godzilla movies are you referring to? Invasion of Astro-Monster? Son of Godzilla? I’d say the 2014 has more in common with the original and none of its sequels. 😀
Yeah, I wouldn’t say it was a bad movie, but it was certainly disappointing.
Bryan Cranston being in it was honestly one of the main reasons I wanted to see it, and for the half hour or so that he was in it I thought it was really quite good. It would’ve not only made it a better film but also a more unique one if they flipped the trope of the young protagonist’s father getting killed and instead had Cranston’s boring, horribly generic son get killed and had the rest of the film be about Cranston dealing with that.
so that we have 2 points of view, the higher-ups and the frontline
but they didnt need to do the dramatic thing to keep that
+1
I thought I was the only one.
Plus I haven’t yet decided if I prefer Desplat’s score over Arnold’s.
Anyway, thanks for making this available.
The piano chord around the 2 minute mark = best part of the film for me.
And friggin’ finally I’m able to listen to that awesome sequence apart from the film. So THANK YOU!
A question at the uploader: Did you come up with the tracktitles yourself or are these (semi-)official?

Might as well post these now that the complete score has leaked. I made these back when I first obtained the sessions and now its time to share them with everyone.

Those were not leaked, they were simply posted on Paramount’s FYC Guilds site. The only "leak" I guess you could say was DoFP, which was pulled because Ottman himself didn’t want it damaging his planned 2-Disc release
The OST seemed to have something against that chorus in general
Maybe because of the fees? Desplat recorded the score in LA, not in London like he use to. The choir was the Hollywood Film Chorale, which it was involved with a trouble with JNH’s Last Airbender, which is why the OST had a synth choir and only the film and sessions had the real one. Also, Desplat used to have the choir buried under the orchestra on his HP and Golden Compass scores. He only fixed it since Rise of the Guardians and Moonrise Kingdom.
The same happened to the Star Trek 2009 OSTs
Pleaseeee!!

I was pretty much talking about the Shōwa series but, yeah, I guess it most closely resembles the original. But, really, almost all of them focus on human characters more than the Big G himself, with only one or two major set pieces, just like Godzilla ’14. The later entries (Heisei and, especially, Millennium) increase the action and effects.
That is such a North American title…
You should wikipedia the franchise.
The studios that took over the rights have a different interpretation.
Even the signature roar has a different sound between each studio.
The appearance, the eyes, and even Ghidora’s design is different.
I thought I was the only one.
Plus I haven’t yet decided if I prefer Desplat’s score over Arnold’s.
…it’s hard. David Arnold’s score is one of my top three favorites of all time, but I’ve been hearing Desplat’s non-stop since it was released.

…that is Toho’s official international title 😀
It depends what themes people are using.
White people are incapable of seeing their own white faults.
But those blue bastards will see right through you. Disgusting.
It’s not on this album.
It would be track 30 if it were.
29 – 5M36A Halo Prayer (00:49)
** Missing ** Gyrgy Ligeti – "Requiem, for Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, 2 Mixed Choirs & Orchestra (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH0pTGYJ63k)" from "Requiem".
30 – 5M36B Let Them Fight (01:46)
The actual song is around 26 minuts in length (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL5lnAQ2b68).
Requiem is also slightly used a little bit, very briefly, when Godzilla is first introduced on-screen at the airport before his first roar.
Let Them Fight comes before Halo Prayer in the movie, doesnt it?
Desplat always said that his music belongs to the studios after being recorded and included in a film. This one, like the Deathly Hallows and Argo come from WB. The Ghost Writer and New Moon from Summit.

Yes.
As if this is the first ‘recording sessions’ leak here on ffshrine….you must hate guys like Scorepranos.
Besides, to add to what mgm5215 said below:

I’m sure you know that composers actually owning their own scores is extremely rare. Studios and occasionally labels own them. There are precious few examples of a composer actually owning their score. They lose nothing from these session leaks. Composers get pennies from album sales unless it’s a (there’s that word again) rare deal like Horner getting just over 1 dollar per Titanic album CD sold. That’s a very rare occurrence. Also, it’s been proven time and again that these leaks do not prevent official releases of scores from coming. Too many bootlegs of the past have been officially released now to make that point clear.
I’m sure the studios who let these scores rot away in a vault somewhere are really hurting…
Independence Day
Honey, I Shrunk The Kids
Alien
Aliens
Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: Nemesis
Wolfen
Patriot Games
48Hrs
Hocus Pocus
A Far Off Place
Back To The Future
And keep in mind there are indeed more, but these are the only ones I can think of at the moment.
The one thing these scores have in common is that they were all out as bootlegs, then official releases eventually followed.
Can’t wait to hear what the new material is like.

Because tapoktro is an idiot. End of story.
He is such a thief. Not just stealing Recording’s upload for himself but also DaUpp’s artwork.
Why he hasn’t been banned already beats me. I’ve reported several of his postes, including times when he’s copied my uploads.
This is an old subject that goes no where.
I don’t claim to have composed the music I post. :p
While I would LOVE to see him banned, I don’t think it will do much good. He’ll probably just come back as a new user and start all over again.
He’s doing the same stuff we do… even if he’s deliberately pissing people off. As much as I’d like to see a FFShrine without him, it’s hard to make a solid case for why he should be banned. :/
The forum needs a Pirates of the Caribbean theme.
The rules converted to the Pirates Code Book.
The mods all having the The Nine Pieces of Eight in their sigs.
He’s doing the same stuff we do… even if he’s deliberately pissing people off. As much as I’d like to see a FFShrine without him, it’s hard to make a solid case for why he should be banned. :/
The reasons I would give (whether they’re legit or not) are:
a) He takes other people’s uploads, which many members here have paid a lot of money for on eBay and such like, or have spent hours editing, and gives no credit.
b) He only does this to make money off the crappy sites he re-uploads things to.
Oh yeah, it really ticks me off when someone edits something and then tapoktro steals it (like the expanded Iron Man 3) It’s just plain rude.
But we can all do our small parts in showing our loathing of him by giving his threads one star-ratings.
b) make money
a) easily fixed with intervention.
b1) he doesn’t make that much. the most he can really make is just enough to extend his premium subscription.
He probably makes that in other uploads on other forums.
Music is a very low avenue of revenue.
The other forums where he uploads and uses Uploaded.to, he’ll make up for there with whatever else he uploads (software/movies/games/etc).
b2) it’s not as intrusive as spammy/malware sites (proof required, not "good enough for me" proof) where you need to click so many things to get the download link.
Uploaded hasn’t been targeted with malware before.
It’s just slow for free and non-registered members.

Those things may be true, but it’s the principle of what he does that really grates. As they say, "It’s the thought that counts."
Welcome to the internet. Please keep your conscience at the door. :smrt:
I see no immediate threat of his mirroring.
He is, at least, posting in the progenitor’s thread.
It’s all just pyschological.
He’s not taking away traffic or attention.
Who really downloads from uploaded when everyone asks for MEGA mirrors?
but really, just ignore the man
Does it anyone else bother, that the complete score is notably quieter than the official release?
I tried to puff it up a bit with mp3gain, but I’m struggling with distorted parts in some tracks.
Any experiences/advices?
I tried to puff it up a bit with mp3gain, but I’m struggling with distorted parts in some tracks.
Any experiences/advices?
It’s happened in the past for some complete/expanded/sessions.
Why? No idea.
But, for tracks that cause distortion, you can try using ReplayGain (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReplayGain) instead.
It doesn’t change the data, it just adds a new tag.
Foobar2000 can read this metadata tag.
There are two scan types:
Album: Every track gets the same value of volume change. No idea what "albums" would actually need this. Maybe ones that cross-fade or mix like Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
Track: Every track gets different values. I use this all the time.
When you scan, you can scan with both types.
Just set Foobar200 to play back using which ever of the two.
You can apply RG values and prevent clipping, or just prevent clipping, or just apply values and accept any clipping.
It’s much faster than any other editing, even if tools like MP3Gain are lossless.
This way you have more control over source content without having to worry about finding originals again.
Well tapoktro doesn’t claim to have composed the music he posts. Your really both at fault if you think about, you should be happy he’s doing it, there is a more chance of him getting caught for these illegal acts.

If something is too quiet/loud, I just adjust the volume of the particular track/album in iTunes (Right Click > Get Info > Options > Volume Adjust).
This seems to be a general problem with many films today. The hype machine is, while sometimes necessary to ensure financial success, a major contributing factor to audience disappointment. Although, it would not be fair to say that all of the blame lies with the studios and their (bastard-offspring-of-satan) marketing departments, as hype built-up by audiences also contributes to the feeling of being let down by the product seen in theaters. It also does not help that most reactions found today tend to be within the extremes, with a film being either "The Most Awesome Thing EVER" or "The Worst Film EVER – even worse than MANOS: The Hands of Fate!" Can’t some people just say that a film, while not living entirely up to their expectations, is still pretty decent despite having some apparent flaws?
Of course, part of the hype machine is also the increasingly narrow focus on getting as much money as possible solely on the opening day or the release date. I’ve heard that long ago (during some ancient era known as the 20th Century, particularly before the 1980’s) films used to have their success evaluated based on the TOTAL of their revenue throughout the entirety of their theatrical run. It is somewhat ironic that one of the best films ever made, JAWS, is probably responsible for the beginning of this trend, what with its HUGE success at the box office during the summer of 1975 and creating the blockbuster, but even then, the film had plenty of other merits for people to talk about, considering that the hype that JAWS received would be a modest or even dim candle light when compared to the MASSIVE AWESOMENESS hype that is given to so many films today. Granted, a handful of these films may indeed deserve such hype, but the problem again lies with marketing and even fans going completely overboard when they hype the film up to be the greatest thing ever, and then they wonder why the film didn’t live up to their outrageous expectations. Who’da thunk it, huh?
*raises hand*
That would be me.
I get like that a lot when it comes to chaos, destruction and villains.
Not saying Godzilla was a villain. But a lot makes me smile.
When I watched The Dark Knight Rises, I was having fits of evil laughter as Bane’s plans unfolded.
My brother couldn’t figure out why.
I couldn’t figure out how to explain.
It was pure appreciation and admiration in seeing something so fantastic.
I look like this a lot of the times…

Especially when watching anything with Joker in it.
Why?
Thanks! Maybe I’ll try… I’m right now working my way through the album with MP3Gain and adjust every track individually.
If something is too quiet/loud, I just adjust the volume of the particular track/album in iTunes (Right Click > Get Info > Options > Volume Adjust).
Doesn’t work for me. A 100% volume boost in itunes is nowhere near doubling up the volume.
