worst is that I learned that while listening to some TD. feck. 🙁
Don’t have many albums, but I was following them since watching Streethawk as a child.
Such sad news. I discovered TD through the Thief OST album. I still have the original LP.
Safe to say there will be no more Tangerine Dream..Edgar was the only original member an majority contributor with most of the current lineup less than 10 years with the group.
Unless his son takes the baton and runs with it.
PS: Assuming he has some legal right to the name "Tangerine Dream"
My obsession with TD began in 1981 with the film Thief staring James Caan. The music really captivated my imagination and was regularly found on my turntable while I was drawing or painting. As of today I have over 80 Gb of nothing but TD and also have several albums on vinyl which I will always cherish. I knew that TD was gearing down for their last tour and I had prepared myself for the end of TD but I had not been prepared for the loss of it’s remaining key member. Should the remaining members decide to continue without Edgar they should change the name of the band.
