Space Gun? Man, that takes me back. I still remember how much fun the cryo bombs were, the importance of using short, controlled bursts… oh, and the wisdom of going for the kneecaps first (amusingly, this is also pointed to in one of the Dark Horse Aliens comics as recommended for xenomorphs – not only does it slow them down, but there’s much less spatter – and to think in both cases this is years before Dead Space and Binary Domain made dismemberment a thing). And yes, SG could be amusingly reimagined as a 3PS in the vein of Fuse. Bonus points if such a remake retains the nasty twist it added to its final boss fight…
…which takes place in the cockpit of the sole remaining ship at the moonbase. Trash it too badly with stray fire and/or overuse of bombs, and… you get the idea.

I just spent some time looking up composer credits for various games, and stumbled upon the Taito Sound Team, ZUNTATA. For some strange reason I have always read that as ZUNTANA, and I also noticed that I actually wrote ZUNTANA in the artist tag on this album, as well as the other volume. I fixed the error and have uploaded new files. If you care about properly tagged files, just change ZUNTANA to ZUNTATA.
I’m surprised nobody else noticed this before me. :S
