Note: I had worked on an edition years ago that I was pretty proud of until one day, my hard drive crashed and I lost that edit. Rather than track down the Mediafire link that should still be active somewhere across this forum, I opted to completely re-work this project. The last edition was nice in that it didn’t include all of the dialogue in between the songs like on the album. However my tastes have changed and for this edition, I opted to include those dialogue bits to give the music some added context. Due to the re-structuring from the official OST, I limited the sound clips to when I felt appropriate. I did not get to include the bits from "Little Priest" due to it not exactly fitting. I would’ve LOVED to include it but alas, I did not. Edit: I ended up making it work.
Also, the official OST includes some slight extensions in the tracks "Epiphany" and "God That’s Good!" which I’ve seamlessly integrated into this mix. The majority of this mix came from the 2CD bootleg approved film mixes which featured its own unique touches that were excluded from the OST which I am happy to include here. Both the OST and the bootleg are magnificent so it was really fun to cross the two formats’ content. Everything extra that I could find on the OST which wasn’t included in the bootleg, I incorporated here whenever possible.
In my previous edition, the track "By the Sea" was mistakenly a repeat of the track "God That’s Good!" which I have corrected in this edition.
Since the film opened in 2007, I’ve been an avid admirer of the film and the music. Many complain about the vocals talents of the performers (namely Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter) however I quite enjoy it. When I owned a physical copy of the CD, it was always playing. I tried rather unsuccessfully for years to rip the unreleased music from the Bluray however that effort was avoided with the leak of the approved film mixes bootleg.
It’s taken me a while but I’ve been wanting to do another edition of this for years so here ya go! Happy belated New Years.
December 2007 :p
Thanks for this
I can’t get enough of this music (or the movie either).
Actually, I only need track 16, "Epiphany", and track 25, "Finale", to complete my set. If anyone upload these only tracks in their original FLAC form as presented here, I could re-up the full set. Anyone?
