I’m still not sure how I feel about this movie.
Sometimes I just love it and other times I’m just okay with it.

I just keep going back.
And forth.
Back.
And forth.
And back.
And forth.

…and back! And forth!

I’m the same about the film, but there’s no question in my mind about the score. For me, it’s Powell’s best Ice Age score (although there are some pretty stunning cues in The Meltdown, particularly the epic showdown cues at the end). There are times when I just can’t get enough of this one. I was listening to this yesterday, for the first time in a few weeks, come to think of it. Buck’s theme is blow-me-down beautiful. So English. And the Battle cues at the end are so damn exhilarating!! Man, I love this score.

Agreed. Really love watching this movie for Powell’s score.
It’s the most memorable of the franchise.

As a film, the fourth is utter crap. The score isn’t that bad, but it has the be my least favourite of Powell’s Ice Age entries. One thing I do like about it is that it uses the theme from The Meltdown that was only used once in the whole film (when the boat starts to float on the flood at the end) as one of its main themes.

As a movie, the third is better than the fourth by far, and is almost as good as the second, which is almost as good as the first. 🙂

lol I know. I wasn’t talking to tapoktromercenary – my post was directed to any newcomers to the thread. But it’s kinda pointless, I know. Was the original upload in mp3 or lossless?
