After working with Hans Zimmer on the score to 2005’s Madagascar, Jim Dooley was asked to score the 12-minute short film The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper. He used the same themes he had composed for the penguins in Madagascar, but the score, as usual with short films, never saw a proper release. It was, however, released as a promo, along with the end credits track by Brian Setzer.

This is my Christmas present to you all on the Shrine. I wanted to share this last year, but never got round to it, which is probably just as well, as this now coincides very nicely with the theatrical release of the Penguins’ first full-length feature – The Penguins of Madagascar.
