Of course its probably been re-encoded.
That would be my guess as well. It’ll take me an hour to finish downloading it and find out for sure though.
Update: It doesn’t look too bad actually. Thanks for the share collection!
That’s so last month 😉
I second this. 🙂

This seemingly does seem like it was transcoded from either the Amazon (MP3@VBR) or the iTunes (AAC@VBR).
However, any and all tags that would indicate this have been removed.
All but the "publisher" tag, which reveals Decca.
Don’t know if Amazon has publisher tag or even iTunes. Maybe both.
I fixed the streams with foobar2000 and re-upping to MEGA as a fix.
Still, though. Thanks to OP for early release.
This won’t be the only release, so for me, it’s just a preview before the upgrade.
And, I’m impatient so I want to hear it now.

Collection, can you consolidate the mirrors to your first post?
For clarity.
Topy has a mirror too, although I don’t know if his are the broken MP3’s or not.
Well, he’s just Copy.
However, any and all tags that would indicate this have been removed.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll wait for another release then.

A transcode? Gosh… Im sorry, but a transcode is completely stupid. It gets even worse considering the 4 year old LAME version he uses. But why am I even complaining? Ill buy it anyway.
Wrong.
?
:S I didn’t even bother to look at that…
LAME3.99.5 Z”
 What the hell happened….
I’m going to go on a whim and say he used an old MP3 converter that’s no longer updated/maintained.
This why you use Foobar2000 people.
It’s still maintained and there’s a forum where people actually contribute feedback and work towards progress.
It’s full compatible with virtually any Windows build of an MP3 encoder.
You can create presets and use custom switches if you want.
Ay! 😉

I think he uses 3.98 (he did at least use it on his encode of ‘Maleficent’), last version was released in March 2010. Only 6 versions since then, the first beta for 3.99 tuned the PSY model. So fairly important changes were made since then.
But for this release here I was wrong: DBPowerAmp reports the encoder as… XING.
Naturally, I deleted the whole thing once I had a look at its properties. And I second sparktanks recommendation of using foobar2000 for converting.
One thing I noticed it and it’s weird: the previousl films and scores always opened up with some music and then the Shire’s theme when THE HOBBIT appears on screen and yet, that did not happen here…
Ya, hardly any warmth or ambience. Fault with this transcode, perhaps?
By the by, does anyone know where Ironfoot, Dragon/Sickness and Thrain fit into the sequence of things?

Not sure about the first two, but Thrain is actually from Desolation of Smaug, it sounds in the Extended Version.
"Thrain" is a track Shore composed for the extended edition of "Desolation of Smaug"… I guess "Ironfoot" might be the music for the end credits after the Billy Boyd song.
The answer lies within my sig
I couldn’t remember the tracks.
Literally, every track I had to hover the mouse icon over F2K to see what track was playing.
I’m so goddamned worried about Tauriel, since she’s created just for the films.
She’s bound to not survive this trilogy and Legolas forced to swear he’ll never think of her because that would just not fit with the LOTR trilogy that takes place long after the Hobbit trilogy and when I think about it, there’s a lot of stuff that everyone will just have to choose to ignore and not bring up again once they’re finished here but mostly Gandalf and Legolas since they’re involved the most between the two franchises whereas Elrond is part of some snotty High Council, he can easily just shrug everything off his Elvish shoulders and redirect his focus, emotions and feelings towards keeping ARWEN alive in the LOTR trilogy thus effectively keeping him out of the loop for The Hobbit memories/flashback whereas Gandalf and Legolas must swear to forget these events so as not to bring them up in the LOTR trilogy.
🙁 I don’t want this to end.
I was about to say, why is Thrain on the score when he got killed by Sauron in the previous film
Well,probably as bonus track
I believe you mean Arwen 😀
And I feel you alright, this HURTS
 Yes, that’s it.
So many names that are just garbled.
Try naming every LOTR/Hobbit character, both book and film, and see if you can do it without stumbling.
:tommydissapproves: I got enough on my plate just trying to remember the actors names for the Dwarves.

Try with The Silmarilion only and you’ll die of being confused 😀
Silmarillion is probably my favorite book of all time, but even I can’t remember the many names, outside of Beren and Luthien of course. Those always stick in my mind. Speaking of which, how awesome would it be to get a Beren and Luthien movie? It’ll never happen, but it’d be so great.

I agree, Tauriel won’t make it out alive. Most likely she’ll die saving one of the dwarves, which will fuel Legolas’ hatred for dwarves in LOTR

I think something bad may happen to her and Kili might want to get revenge?
not PJ. not GDelT. not anyone big right now.
Any director that’s commercial and box-office is just type-casting like getting Nicolas Cage to play the demented uncle who’s cool and has to wear shades indoors with a neurotic voice style.
It has to be someone who hasn’t done anything in North America.
Neill Blomkamp? I wouldn’t say it’s his style at all. Despite, people saying he’s a brand new "Peter Jackson".
But, he might.
Maybe let Andy Serkis direct. Not second-unit director either.
Full blown director credit.
"An Andy Serkis Film"

Andy Serkis would be an interesting choice, it would be a big undertaking for someone without a lot of directing experience, but he’s familiar with Middle Earth, so I’d be fine with it. I agree that it is time for Peter Jackson to stop. The Hobbit films are already far too "commercialized".

You’re probably right.
But he has been the second-unit director for all three films, so he has some direction.
He directed all his own scenes in the Hobbit films.
PJ has suffered a heart-attack/stroke when he first took over An Unexpected Journey when GdelT dropped out from directing.
Any more epic features for PJ, and he’ll die for sure.
Which is too bad. If anyone should do a Legend of Zelda movie, it should be PJ.
Even if it kills him. :ashine:
I was taken away by the scene at first because it was so awesome to hear it in a new fashion, but ultimately felt it didn’t really have a place in the film the way they showed it.
I was confused half way through that scene after realizing that I was jsut being suckered in with awesome cinematics.
It definitely needs an EP.
So during that scene I had one of my ‘OMFG that isn’t on the score! Grmblr grmblr. How coule they!’ – moments.
But I don’t think they will do complete recordings or extra score releases of the Hobbit like they did with LOTR. And chances of a session leak are very small
By the by, does anyone know where Ironfoot, Dragon/Sickness and Thrain fit into the sequence of things?
I think Dragon-Sickness is a suite but i’m not sure. Nah, not transcode, previews and other tracks released elsewhere had the same thing.
Because the added stuff is f*cking lame and cheesy. I was cringing the whole 2,5+ hours of Desolation
It seems like a great score, this one. Very big. I won’t be seeing the movie, though. They won’t fool me 3rd time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShvKCjaXgKo
1:00 minute in the clip and 3:25 in the track… seriously amazing revision
I will be in M4A with digital booklet December 8th.
She’s bound to not survive this trilogy
She should have never exist. I almost tear my eyes apart when they started the completely unnecessary and lame elf-darw love story. WTF Peter?
The Hobbit is full and even adds more background about Middle Earth from the ROTK book and people complain again, WTF is wrong with people they dont fucking know their luck.
Completely disagree. The Hobbit is one of the best adventure books ever. Perfect children literature while, light and funny, while here, what we got with the movies is a LOTR 2 with too much CGI and too many stupid elvish jumps.
About the OST, "I shall pass" until a better version is available.
Don’t get me wrong. I am very happy for being able to watch The Hobbit at cinema. They are quite good films (or better than the 90% blockbuster garbage), but what I wanted is the book, which has a completely different mood than the LOTR; not The Hobbit+steroids. Hopefully someone will chop out the 3 extended Hobbit movies and will edit a 2 hours*2films version with just Bilbo there and back again.
No, we just need TCR. lol
great news vlad. thank you 🙂
The Ironfoot theme is split during the movie, the first part 0-1min50 is played when the Dwarves (Ironfoot and his army of 500 warriors) are fighting the orcs with the help of the elves.
Thanks!
Thanks for the share!!

Good enough, I think most of the music, if not all, is already in several tracks of the Special Edition, maybe it can be recreated with what’s available.
END CREDITS
Ironfoot ending/Darkest Hour ending
Fire and Water Unreleased music (for the scene with the dwarves at the mountains during Smaugs attack)
Shores of the Long Lake 2nd part
Unreleased music (Alfrid and the Coins scene)
Ruins of Dale
Fire and Water Unreleased/Released music (the scene where Bain sees his father shoot arrows at Smaug, runs towards him and Bard fires his last normal arrow at Smaug)
Ironfoot again (the bit from 4:30-6:05)
It should trump this lossy transcode.
Yes, because it’s based off a very short book.
It was supposed to be a two-part movie (like Kill Bill), but turned into 3 parts.
The first movie is usually called "boring" because it’s the establishment of the story and characters and the very start of the journey.
The second one people like more because it doesn’t need to establish much and can get into much more action. Like with The Empire Strikes Back and Godfather part 2.
This one is the end of the story, and as in the book, it’s all about the huge battle that takes place (only lasting a couple minutes in the Rankin/Bass animated feature). So it can really just focus on a lot of the action.
The plot continues, but you need to watch the first two; plus, it helps to have watched (and remembered) the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as a lot does allude to the trilogy.
The guy that played Saruman is literally 92 years old.
Yeah, Sir Christopher Lee has played Saruman since The Fellowship of the Ring.
Sir Ian McKellen also played Gandalf from the very beginning, too (now 75).
And Cate Blanchett reprising her role as Lady Galadrial.
And Hugo Weaving reprising his role as Lord Elrond.
And Sir Ian Holm reprising his role as the older Bilbo Baggins (now 82).
This series really isn’t for new viewers and younger generations.
You have to be in it from The Fellowship.
And learn to disassociate a lot from the books, as it’s an adapation that makes a lot of changes and takes a lot of creative liberties for the sake of not trying to bore anyone to death in theaters who don’t read books.
when the battle doesnt even take up half of the movie
Thank you.
