considering all the crap going on facebook and the fact that I don’t need people I know knowing every god damned thing I do everyday, I consider facebook to be highly unnecessary. hell, not having a facebook is nearly being a rebel by now.
Plus…no one is truly anonymous. FFshrine is still standing because the sheer cost of investigating EACH of the file-sharers / Downloaders / Leeches / members and then prosecuting them is just insane.
… and yet we have an untold amount of ‘members’ who join, post only enough posts to get PM privileges to PM for links etc for downloading material (instead of purchasing legally) and/or just lurk/troll others here…

That can also be applied to those like yourself who use the download section. I will not change my stance/opinion on the download section and if I choose to exercise my right to say such, I will. It should never have been implemented here imo. This site is ‘Final Fantasy Shrine’… not ‘Download Anything You Want’.

I behave how I want, don’t like… that’s just too bad. 99% of the members here don’t contribute to the rest of the forum as a whole… just lurk and leech because they can’t be bothered to go out and purchase the stuff legally.

The reasons the ‘main feature’ of the forum is music downloading is because of Galbadia Hotel shutting down and carried over here as well as the main site being ignored and left to rot by those who should be updating it. Downloading material designated freeware etc, fine go ahead. But downloading music, film, anime etc which is readily available to purchase via Online store or (and here’s a thought) one goes to a store in person and buy the stuff there.

Granted, there’s options to disable what’s allowed to happen whenever you sign into a place with facebook, not everyone is going to be compitent enough to do anything about it.
This place is just going to get swamped with new threads asking to have things changed when you link fb/ffs accounts.
No one’s going to listen, learn or exact instructions.
And then when people want to ignore their accounts and never sign in again, at some point something will happen that will affect their facebook activity and they’ll just come back and ask to have their facebook accounts deleted. :laugh:
A good password manager is all you really need.

Oh, so you targeted my comments, blanketing the download section eh? My, my… you actually used a few braincells to come up with that, didn’t you? (THAT was aimed at you there btw) Listen, you started this by attacking my comment and how I feel about the download section. I have never changed my stance on that (Even Amanda has stated that) and never will. Why, because I consider it to be illegal and do not condone it. I am well within my right to state such, just as yourself and those like you, defend and support the download section to the death.
I purchase all music, anime, etc I currently own with money I have earned. If one can’t afford to do that, then that’s too damn bad. Save up for it and get it when you can, or you get called Cheapskate, Douchebag, Pirate etc when you download it illegally from myself and those who do not support it (though I will admit, hardly any here are of the same stance as I). This forum has plummeted downhill since the download section was added and while membership has increased, QUALITY membership has DECREASED. Older members have left due to how this site is now, and I don’t blame them.
Are you going to say to me, honestly docrate1, that this influx of members have TRULY contributed to this site? I don’t mean by posting in one sole subforum, but by contributing to the OVERALL forum as a whole? Not by just posting inane and nonsensical posts or deliberate trolling and inflammatory posts or thread necromancy… but actual CONTRIBUTION? Very few and far between.

Believe what you like… I have spoken to quite a few of the old guard, and some have pointed out that the ‘multiple hacking/breaking etc’ had nothing to do with them leaving this site.
