I think it’s honestly the best we will ever get. What happened is there’s literally only one FYC of Ted’s score that’s sold on eBay. I contacted that seller if I could contact the buyer to see if I could purchase it from them. The seller gave the buyer my email, etc, and they told me that they would do a literal CD burn of it, so I thought it was all good, and he said the way he burns CDs there is no quality loss…so the FYC must be lossy. It also doesn’t include two cues, I believe. I don’t have it on my hard drive anymore..

I had a quick look at all versions of the score, and the FYC is the most complete one. If you add The Stagecoach Robbery and End Credit Suite (Extended) from the iTunes version to it, you get an almost complete set. I haven’t seen the unrated version yet, so I don’t know where to put Stagecoach Robbery yet. I can put up a list with all cues, where you can find them and so on, if there is interest.

Thanks a lot for sharing the FYC version of Joel Mcneely’s excellent score – His very best in in years.
It is a shame that McNeely does not get more major or prestige projects to appy his talents on (Same with Bruce Broughton too).
It is a real waste of his talents – especially in the action scoring department he’s a real master – for example
starting on the FYC with track 31 You Gotta Get Outta Here and following tracks.
And track 12 Saloon Brawl is also a great music piece!

I should say that if I can get it I don’t mind compiling/uploading the complete version from the different sources thanks to the great cue-listing work here, as it doesn’t seem anyone’s done it yet.

Right, until I get hold of the FYC recording, I’ve used some of the wonderful uploads on this thread, and a few spare hours I didn’t realise I’d have, to create a zip folder of bonus tracks. Especially useful were the great Bluray 5.1 rips which held a lot of power! All of these are 44.1khz, 16-bit FLAC. Thanks again to all the other uploaders who have made this possible. Included in here:

The Stagecoach Robbery (iTunes, FLOSSY)
End Credits (Extended) (iTunes, FLOSSY)
As the titles imply, straight and untampered FLAC conversions of the M4A files of the two iTunes-exclusive tracks, for those burning CDs or who don’t do Apple.

End Credit Suite (Extended) (Bluray Lossless, remixed to matched iTunes version)
Completely lossless and mixed from the Bluray 5.1 files, this took some time and patience. This is the closest I could possibly get to the iTunes mix/mastering of the End Credits in terms of presence/placement from the surround stems, I think it’s a pretty good match. The 5.1, the OST and the iTunes all have quite different sound qualities to them and I think this holds up quite well amongst them.

End Credit Suite (Extended) (Full Bluray Mixdown)
For purists, this is a full, all-faders-up, less-tampered mixdown from the 5.1 elements. Slightly more boisterous and echoey, this sounds slightly closer to the OST mix but fairly different to the iTunes mix.

Opening Titles (Symphonic Remix)
Taking advantage of the atmospherics of the 5.1, I’ve created, a new, turbo-powered mix of the Opening Titles that pulls forward the amazing studio acoustics of the scoring stage. A novelty, but a very pleasant one!

A Million Ways To Die (Rhythm & Vocal Mix)
A presentation of the centre channel of Alan Jackson’s title song, featuring the brush drums, bass guitar, and crystal clear vocal track without reverb. A pretty great thing to be hiding in the surround mix!

A Million Ways To Die (Stripped Down Mix)
A new stripped-back remix of the title song based on the previous isolation, but bringing the orchestra, choir and desk reverb back somewhat into the mix. The result is a powerful new way to listen to the song, minus some of the country instrumentation and showcasing the overdubs.

Sting 1 (Orchestra)
Sting 2 (Vocal)
A couple of fun isolations that can be used either as spacers on a CD or perhaps as ringtones/system sounds.

I know bumping is ungracious and frowned upon, but I’m slightly concerned this post got completely and comprehensively missed last week.
