I found out that the tracks were rendered as 24.000Hz, resulting in a quite disappointing quality vs. the usual 44.100Hz.
Was the music already in 24.000Hz in the game files?

Yes, the original source was Vorbis in an FSB container at 24,000Hz. Both PS3 and Xbox 360 are the same. I’ll also check the PC version as well and update the rip if it has better quality.

That’s quite surprising considering how important the audio is in this game…

I just checked out the PC version and it is the same as the console versions. FSB Vorbis at 24,000Hz.
