Thanks brother.
Listened through half or so… I like the main theme (Kyd’s Ezio theme beginning ftw).
Other than that this is shaping up to be the worst AC soundtrack yet… unfortunately.
edit: no doubt, it’s the worst imo, listened to it all…
Thank you Radeon!

+1, yesterday I heard Unity Vol.1 and Vol. 2 and was far, very far from the previous. It’s another style, more classical like a movie composition instead videogame.

Haha, okay so it’s not that bad… It’s certainly not the worst score of the series (Helllooooo AC Liberation, come on down) but it’s very, very horrible sounding synth instruments are an obvious low point. Especially that Brass. I’m really not sure how someone thought that would be okay to release, let along charge money for. Understand this is a new composer and looks like UbiSoft are getting all their scores done in-house now rather than by name-composers. I guess that saves them a bit of coin and gives them total control over the sound of these games? The "Main Theme" is an incredibly manipulative piece of composition for no other reason than for fans to go "Oh, I remember that vastly better music from the previous games".
All that being said; "The Hunter" is actually quite lovely. Anything with 100% less of that shitty brass synth is actually some nice sounding score buried in there. It’s very cinematic in it’s attempt, rather than the jolly rompy pirate stuff from the last game and the vocal tracks are quite beautiful too. Agnus Dei, is very Templar sounding and I kinda wished they had gone for that more ethereal pseudo-religious sound a little more which kinda suits the Templars better.
But anywho, it’s not terrible. It’s just a bit manipulative and lazy, especially shoving Ezio’s theme right up front for NO reason, never introducing it again and (since I haven’t played the game) it bares absolutely no relation to the character, the game or the story being told especially since it’s a Templar story, one of betrayal of the Assassin’s. Why you would reprise Ezio’s theme amongst that baffles me. I don’t get why they did it. It’d be like playing Yoda’s theme as the opening for a Video Game about a young Palpatine.
Game credits have only three people for instruments – violin, cello & flute so it figures the budget was low all-around.
I think I remember reading somewhere that they used Ezio’s theme to represent the Assassin Brotherhood in-game, as a kind of the Assassins’ theme or something along those lines. But apart from that, it does look a lot like a cheap trick and taking the easy way out…
31/31, awesome ALL. Adrenaline and action.
edit: Gotta agree that this doesn’t stand up very well next to Unity’s score, much less Kyd’s work; but it is enjoyable, albeit not very memorable.
If you want to create an "Assassin’s Theme" then either hire Jesper, or come up with something new.
My opinion : Black Flag was the best soundtrack from all assassin’s creed series.
Also i like drums from Rogue.
Sorry for bad english:)

Black Flag was made by Brian Tyler AND Sarah Schachner. But you are right… Black Flag was very good.
Unity is ok… but Rogue is a little bit boring in my opinion. But i have to listen to it them a little bit more!
Perhaps they will start to grow on me. Damn… i really miss Jesper Kyd!
SAY WAT?
This score is a poor and unimaginative entry in the series, but still more memorable than Unity – perhaps thanks to using samples from Kyd’s work.
Is it possible to get a re-up on that glorious cd rip?
I’m wondering too. I really want the cutscene music. I love the main theme, but it was hardly on what’s been released so far at all, and I think there were a couple bit in the game (one in particular I can think of) when it played that we don’t have.
Thanks for the GLORY!!!!
