Thanks for putting this together so quickly! 🙂
Regardless, you did a marvelous job inserting the Frontrunning variations to the race themes, it really highlights how good this OST is.
But why does Nintendo keep putting their music at 32khz?? It just wastes precious sound quality for so many good tunes!
(P.S. Did you check page 60 of your main music thread? I already corrected my cover art you know and sorry if I’m being bothersome)
Thanks for putting this together so quickly! 🙂
It wont be the norm for all games (nintendoland is 48khz) but definitely Nintendo’s main games mostly.
Top-notch as always !!!!!, but this Album has yet to be fully completed since the upcoming DLC’s happen to have more retro courses and some new ones (16 in total), so the Jazziness is not over yet.

It’s no issue 3DMan, when the DLC arrives and has new music. I can still update this to 2.0. It is technically a fully completed rip of the game solo.
Will you be doing Nintendo Land? I’m still doing my own conversion of Mario Kart 8 so that each variation has their own individual file but I really don’t want to splice all of the Octopus Dance files together if I don’t have to.
That’s how it is in-game. There is a version with the whole Sax solo that’s used in Mario Kart TV and is a separate file in the rip. (not !!!!!’s but the source gamerip)
Yep encountering the same issue, getting these weird network errors every time I try to download.
Think the problem lies with the site as it sometimes appears saying that the site is down for maintenance, or something along those lines.
That’s an issue I’ve had with BillionUploads in the past also. Have you tried using jDownloader? Sometimes that works for me when dealing with uncooperative websites.
I’ve never tried it with BillionUploads, but it’s worth a shot.
Edit: !!!!!, do you think you can also do a Mega download link? For some reason, BillionUploads is still causing me issues like it did for DKCR:TF and just stopping the download with a failure. 🙁
And you mixed Cloudtop Cruise together….
Obviously this takes effort, and I appreciate what you do. I’m just pointing them out, should you wish to fix the "errors".
Oh and while this isn’t an error, it’s just an opinion: Personally, I would have done all the ‘new courses’ first, then retro courses, i.e. Mushroom, Flower, Star, Special, Shell, Banana, Leaf, Lightning, i.e. horizontally.
rather than how you did it, where you somehow did Mushroom, Shell, Flower, Banana, Star, Leaf, Lightning, Special, which is strange because for the first 6 you do new, retro, new, retro, new, retro, but then the last 2 are retro, new.
Will you be able to put up a Hyrule Warriors complete rip as well?
Only 32 kHz? That’s too bad… I guess that’s the norm for the Wii U.
Thanks for putting this together so quickly! 🙂
Well, Hyrule Warriors is 48khz, so it all varies between games.
Will you be able to put up a Hyrule Warriors complete rip as well?
Well, Hyrule Warriors is 48khz, so it all varies between games.
1st party Nintendo developed games always seem to use 32khz as the sample rate. Hyrule Warriors was made by another team, which would explain why its in 48khz.
It’s included in the updated rip.
Dolphin Shoals is weird to mix, in the game the fade to the saxophone part is used with a boost and a splash to get out of the water. But the music itself just modulates +1 semitone going to the sax part. The audio developers said in an interview than it is used to make the track pop more… So it sounds really bad when I try to mix it myself. I really have to make a track just for the sax variation… XD
Yea the song is played in a different key. I don’t know why they would do that since transitions sound bad unless you create something in between one track to the next.
Good job for putting this up, !!!!!!

I’m not sure if I’ll do a Hyrule Warriors rip yet.

Yup I predict all main Nintendo games will be blessed with 32khz. Smash Bros might be the exception because of Namco co-developing it and Smash Bros 3DS used a Namco audio format.
UPDATE:
Mario Kart 8 OSV is now at 1.1
-Dolphin Shoals is the full version and is edited to have the 1st lap drums variation on second loop
-Mount Wario has all of its transitions
-Added Star Power & Final Lap Fanfare
-Added an Extras link in the nexus thread that contains the numerous song variations seperated
-MEGA Mirror for the OSV (not including the extras)
Well, will you do a Wind Waker HD rip? I ask because I was considering doing one myself, but I won’t if you plan to do one as well (and probably do a better job than me).
Probably not.
Hey !!!!!, in your Cloudtop Cruise track, the standard orchestral version of the music is still audible during the rock / electric guitar version. I’m pretty sure that you never hear them both layered on top of each other like that in the game. When you’re driving through the storm clouds, I think you only hear the rock version of the music.
Fixed.
i also wanted to ask about a few things. the different variation tracks are only one loop and that kind of puts me off and will you be uploading the dlc tracks with their variations as well?
The extras are cut to a single loop for file size purposes. Nope on the DLC at least not until it is rippable.
UPDATE: (now 1.2)
-Fixed Cloudtop Cruise & Variations in extras
-Raised drums volume on Rainbow Road
Here’s the link to the 1st DLC Pack’s Streams.
Oh boy, if its out this early, then Smash Bros 4’s streams will arrive shortly in a few days. I think I’ll make something out of it once it arrives (And maybe Sonic Lost World as well if that pops up).
It’s obvious he’s going to do it, with relative ease too since there aren’t many tracks on it.
Just- be a little patient!
-Added "The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8" DLC Tracks (in extras too)
-Re-ordered tracks
Didn’t expected dumped DLC audio that quick, not even a week. 3.0 will have the "Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8" songs when that releases and gets dumped in May next year.
i think its because its taken directly from the game and it isnt remixed. but im not sure because i haven’t played any f zero games.
I’ve experienced the same problem that you have. The entire track are full of scratches and distortions on iTunes except they’re flawless using Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic.
Convert it to 44.1 kHz.

[QUOTE=Convert it to wav first, then convert it to 44.1. Thats what fixed it for me. Just make sure you have something that’ll make transferring tags over easy[/QUOTE]
Also, what happens if you convert them to AAC in iTunes directly? I didn’t do that, but I did however, take the MP3s and convert them in foobar2000 to IIRC an AAC format (M4A, or MP4 (they’re the same thing)).
I converted .flac to .wav by "xrecode II", then .wav to Apple Lossless(Of course, iTunes). No problem occured.
And also do Apple Lossless to .mp3, Result is same.
Actually, I don’t know why they happened.
Crediar has already ripped the music streams of the 2nd DLC Pack! You know what to do !!!!! (See the bottom of the page of the link)
HCS Forum – Wii U – Music (http://www.hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=38505&showpage=50)
I don’t mean to promote my own thread but I did. (Thread 181223)
So will we see an updated version with the 2nd DLC pack music in it?
I really hope so, as I (and I’m sure others) really like the way you mix and arrange the tracks on your soundtracks.
The official album also won’t be released for some time. I think I may actually prefer your arrangements to the official ones, even.
Anyways, hope to see something soon! Thanks.
