Just saw the movie, it was awesome. Slow at first, but it picked up. The score was generic in some parts, and awesome during the climax. Had a Man on Fire and Domino vibe, also composed by HGW.

What a co-ink-ki-dink. Saw it this evening also. Liked it a lot. Appreciated that the film took the time to introduce the characters, even the secondary ones like Ralphie. All too often action films ask you to care about characters and their fates but never give you a reason why. And it let Denzel do a slow burn before letting the monster out of the box. Had some truly despicable villains that you loved to see die. Also liked that McCall rarely fired a gun but used hand to hand combat and a rather nasty imagination in the deployment of hardware store tools.

And I agree: HGW’s score was quite good especially in the climax. The only thing I missed was Stewart Copeland’s Equalizer theme. But since this film is a prequel maybe we’ll hear it in the sequel.

P.S. Two of the instrumental (quasi) tracks in the film aren’t HGW but rather Zack Hemsey: Vengeance & Graven Image.

Just saw this film earlier today and I thought it was awesome! Denzel was great (as always)!

Also enjoyed this film, I especially liked the store scene with the choice of Vengeance by Zack Hemsey.
