Super Smash Bros. 4 (3DS) [JP] Gamerip?

Well, as it would seem on Twitch, a few copies of the Japanese version of SSB4 for 3DS leaked out today. The game releases in Japan in 2 days, so I was wondering if anyone was thinking about starting work on a game rip of that version until the 2 disc Club Nintendo soundtrack comes out? The Club Nintendo soundtrack may just be selections, though. Not sure.

Either way, Smash Bros is a fantastic series, and I know me and many others here would love to see a game rip when the game releases in Japan from those who are importing or live in Japan and are picking up the game! 🙂

AFAIK, the current way of ripping music streams from 3DS games won’t work on this game at the current time, so somebody will have to do a line-in recording via the soundtest. As long as it’s done with a good enough setup though, the quality is about the same, but it does take more work to do it this way.

Depending on the compression used, the gamerip could sound a lot better or just a bit better. Regardless, it shouldn’t be too long until someone starts uploading recordings.

I was saying that because there is no loop/endless function in the sound test (or I don’t get it in japanese but the icons are pretty straight forward). It’s just one loop with mandatory 5 secs fade out.

I will try to rip two more right now, with one non-Zelda (that Melee remix please me too I need to listen it!).

Please do make them 320kbps! If you already exported the tracks in a lower quality and didn’t save the audacity project (assuming you’re using it), then it’s no big deal. It’ll still be nice regardless to have them…

To my knowledge there are two different ways that can be considered a type of ripping, source ripping (straight from cart files) and replay ripping (relying on Sound Test or some in-game Jukebox), it’s most likely replay ripping, but that’s still good quality.

I would argue your rip is the best one I’ve heard so far, Jackano.
The rip of the youtuber you’re referring to isn’t actually his own rip- it’s just a playlist of songs he has found on the internet and extended by him to 15 minutes. There’s a lot of difference in the quality of the songs he has posted. Like how the Rainbow Road Medley sounds really good in terms of quality, but the Master Core’s quality in that playlist is cringeworthy…

Though I really appreciate the rips of the others, I’m still waiting for a good quality rip. Seems like Jackano’s rip is as good as it gets till the OST comes out.
