I have never been a big fan of Goldsmith’s music, but I want to give him another try. Can anyone suggest or pm me some of his best score? I already have Wind And The Lion

I just could never get into his score as stand alone, I don’t know why. They work better in the movie for me. That’s why I’m asking for suggestions.

I was always a huge John Williams fan and overlooked a lot of Goldsmiths work. I have recently re-discovered some of his gems, largely thanks to this site!
My Favourites are:
Night Crossing – expanded
Star Trek: The motion picture- complete
The First Great Train Robbery
Legend
The Omen – The Final Conflict
Mulan – Complete
Planet of The Apes
Poltergeist

Goldsmith ? Who is this dude he is talking about ? Come on soundtracks are composed by real musicians like Muse who scored World War Z or Imagine Dragons for Transformers and of coure Lorde who is scoring Hunger Games III, Godlsmith, Horner, Howard, Shore…unknown for me, sorry…
(What makes me mad in real life is that I often hear that kind of bullshit in general media…Hell, the fact that a loosy teenage or popular group has a song heard at the end of a movie does not mean they scored the movie…).
My Goldsmiht picks would be :
Lionheart
First Knight
Total Recall
Poltergeist
Legend
Leviathan
Gremlins II
….
Creedmoor

"In Harm’s Way," "Patton," "The Ballad of Cable Hogue," "The Wild Rovers," and "A Patch of Blue." And any of his collaborations with Joe Dante.
And is you really don’t like JG, here’s a little something for you to wear around the house.

Can you imagine that this member is giving us a chance to prove him that Mister Jerry Goldsmith was a great composer.
I am impressed 😀
I would add:
Star Wars (Jabba the Hutt was his uncle).
Contact – He was in love with Jodie Foster but she was in love with Venus (don’t know why) 😀
The Wizard of Oz (because Judy Garland was his mother) : follow the yellow brick road, follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road …
Saturday Night Fever and Grease … (true that John Travolta was his son).
Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music (Julie Andrews was his aunt).
I am not sure he also composed the score of "Capricorn One", "Powder" …

Yes, but you started your request with a condescending slap. "I never much cared for the guy, but I’ll do him a favor by giving him a second chance." That’s like walking up to a woman in a bar and hitting her up with, "Ya’ know, for a fat chick you don’t sweat so much." Goldsmith is a deity. Judging by the response, you appear to have taken a shit in the wrong church.
