Yeah, that’s right, the AVGN movie’s out! Don’t know how they finagled Bear (http://www.bearmccreary.com/#blog/blog/films/angry-video-game-nerd-the-movie/) to do the score, but that’s awesome!

I love this soundtrack!

Can anyone but me hear some dark void and battlestar galactica in this a bit?

The later tracks int he soundtrack appears to take a motiff right off from the beginning of 15 – Hieroglyphs and Betrayal.

I downloaded the latest upload and there seems to be an extreme clicking in the track "Nerd Nightmare" from 0:38 to 0:46 and various other places throughout the album. Is that fixable or direct from the source? Thanks in advance.

I concur with your findings. The quality does sound noticeably diminished when discerning through headphones. There is also an issue of volume leveling which fluctuates between tracks (god damn it).

As mentioned early, this is indeed the Spotify rip. As such, it was probably upsourced from a lower bitrate (I’m not sure how Spotify works). I was not aware of this when I posted it, sorry if I misled anyone in any way.

I do plan on buying the score from the official source (eventually). When I do, I’ll update the link accordingly.

As an aside, I really do enjoy the throwback ’80s video game vibe that’s featured throughout the album. My favorite track is "Nerd Nightmares" which is definitely inspired by Danny Elfman’s "Clown Dream" (both in style and sequence) from the Pee-wee’s Big Adventure soundtrack. Bear mentioned that he went "big" for the score and it really shows. I think composers do some of their best work when they’re not restricted in their creativity in any way.

I forgot to clarify that two of the songs (Nerds Before Birds, Barcade) were written and performed by Bear McCreary’s brother, Lion, or something.
