Good afternoon,

I am searching for a long time for the original soundtrack of the William Wyler’s classic "The Heiress" (1949, Paramount).
The score was composed by Aaron Copland.
I already have the suite (a segment of 8 minutes) but I still have the feeling that the original score still exists.

I know that Paramount sold the movie rights to Universal a long time ago and I am not sure where are located the
tapes or discs (maybe in the Paramount vaults).

Anyway, thank you very much in advance for your help (a bootleg or an original CD is welcome).

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards.

Daniel.

Sorry I made a mistake (TYPO), the film was released in 1949 and not 1946.

That’s unbelievable, thank you very much for the soundtrack.
I was right, the original tracks still exist.
Maybe Kritzerland will release the soundtrack in the future.

Regards.

Daniel.

It should have been noted that the sound quality is really really terrible; most would say un-listenable. I got this several years ago from another source, so I’m not biting the hand here, and downloaders deserve to know something like this beforehand.

I do agree with you, it looks like a very old long playing (33 rpm) but it seems this is the only source available, I hope I am wrong.

Anyway here is the link to download the file from Mega, this is not a big file, about 54 Mo (all the tracks are in MP3) :

yes, they do sound like vinyl, probably acetates.
I only went a-searchin because someone mentioned on a message board that the original tracks were located at a Univ.Texas library, and I wondered if someone might have gotten them in the meantime. Could be the poor tracks are the same as what the library has.
