The Watchmaker

The soundtrack was re-recorded in 2001 pairing with another Max Steiner score, The Son of Kong released by Marco Polo and re-released by Naxos in 2006. It can be found on MP3 here (Thread 123745).

The original recordings never were released. Not officially at least.
To make this presentation, as source, the original Dolby Digital (AC3) audio track from the colorized version released on DVD.
The movie was recently released on Blu-ray on its original format black and white.
The audio from that edition have a clean sound but due the level of noise reduction applied, the score have less clarity than from DVD, which is much less processed.

The way the music was mixed in the movie made it easy to create an almost music and effects track.
The intent is to hear the score only, so dialogue and loud sound effects, like plunk, door knocking, dog barking (partially), were cut avoiding distraction and distortion.

Noise reduction was used only enough to get rid of part of the background noise inherent on optical track sources.
To enhance listenability, equalization and reverb were applied.

The original audio, with the cuts but without enhancements is also available.

The custom cover was made by me.

That is a challenging project that you have undertaken here, The Watchmaker. These few words are a pale reward for the long hours you must have put into this but I want to thank you very much for the chance to listen to the original recording. Thank you also for the technical info and this beautiful cover.
