I got banned from BOLT…..twice.

I found the site BOLT, and so I went over there last week and signed up. You need 30 posts before you can do any requests, so I went to 32 different topics and posted "Thanks" for the post. the next day, I was banned. I could not believe it, so I sent an email asking what I did wrong, and I got an answer from one of the mods saying that I should read the FAQ, since they don’t allow you to leave thanks, you have to hit the button that says "thanks". So, my account was not banned, and I went over there and went to 12 posts and posted comments, and I was banned again. This time, the mod said "Don’t F**King come back here again, you are banned forever". Very rude people over there. Just evil.

Anyone else have this problem?

Just out of curiosity… Did You read the faq?
I have been there for a number of years, a quiet member, overstepped a rule or two myself despite reading the faq and the board rules. But mods have explained when I asked and all was well.
Paradox would be another alternative.

I had heard on another sight that BOLT was the place to be, great files of all sorts, but between the bans, I didn’t see much that impressed. Since they don’t want me there, I won’t go back.

But there is no reason for that rudeness.

Joking aside, I’d have to say ffshrine is somewhat laid back and equitable (most of the time) compared to some other sites. I don’t know if it’s a record, but I got banned on my first post on a particular site, with much rudeness similar to what you related. On another I got banned after I posted an amusing pic of a famous artist, nothing smutty – it was all in good taste and family friendly. Bam! I’m outta there. Could I care less? Not really. At the end of the day it’s water off a ducks back.

You are not missing much as far as soundtracks are concerned. Not much, if anything, that is not available here. They do also have a "regular" song album forum, a film and tv series download forum and a porn and adult only forum. So, depends on what you wanted. I am a member but have not posted a score in many years. I did post in their political debate threads, but the radically right wing stances pissed me off so I just stopped.

I only visited a couple times and did not find anything special there.

I would have to guess that you created generic posts within a short time frame, which most would consider spamming.
New account, 30 new posts about nothing = spam.

Can’t be that bad, not like that one time here, someone went and just copy/pasted old comments and tried to use them as "new" comments.
One person did that and it looked like it was botted or a poor attempt at being "clever" as the pasted comments had no relevence to newest posts when the discussion changed.

Since it’s not a "popular" forum like here or tehparadox, I would say they have very strict rules about spamming.
Which kills a society since it leaves most of everyone out of the loop.

Generic, useless comments are common. Way too common.
I commend them only for their attempts to change the world, but ultimately, they’ll be able to and be the downfall of their own… downfall… :erm:

Those guys are a bunch of assholes. The site is located in the middle east, and all of the mods, and the controller of the board are all part of the Taliban, or groups like that. They come up with any reason to ban Americans, so you are better off just not going there. FBI will be closing them down soon, as they had gotten closed down twice before, that’s why they are now BOLT.CD, and not .COM or .NET, or something like that. They are a bunch of middle eastern bullies, and the site is lame.

Just avoid it at all costs. You’d be better off.

and, as far as the comment above, what can you expect from someone named "Darth Revan"? Any time that I encounter someone with a "Darth" or "Freddie K" in their name, or something like that, they always turn out to be very negative, evil bastards. If they want a username like that, guess where their mindset is at!

The Middle East is not exactly a small provincial area. Also, the Taliban are in Afghanistan not the Middle East, and the Taliban "ban" all "western style nonsense" so I’d say it’s unlikely they’re running any media forum. And if it’s Al Quaida run, then it’s funded by you, the American tax payer. But recently they’ve rebranded several times to ISIS, ISIL, IS… and are busy decapitating Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, in fact anybody they don’t like the look of, and probably don’t have any free time to devote to moderating posts.

Please, when you read scoregeek’s..:erm: wanderings, that MANY of the main members of the download section here are members there as well. I am sorry you encountered rudeness and really have no idea why you would have been banned. I have been there years, and hardly log in or read. I am sorry you encounter rudeness anywhere you travel.

well, it seems like several people here have been banned, merely for expressing their opinions. I guess it exists all over the internet. Most uncomfortable for a new member to see.

I don’t. But I can only go by what I see. And what I see is not very encouraging to me, a lot of "Big brother" type of deals, repression of the facts, or truth, that kind of deal.

It does not bode well.

BOLT was know as rapidfind. org and rapid.org and then move to Bolt.org then .cd

They used to have very nice martial arts videos though, before I moved on to scores and soundtracks 🙂
