SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION
In the not too distant future, a civil war breaks out in Uddiyana, a small country in Asia. Enter Shirasu Saeko, who captures a photograph of a flag that is revered as possibly the most famous picture ever taken. The flag symbolizes hope and helps to establish a ceasefire among the various religous sects; however, there are those who do not wish to see peace and the flag is soon stolen. With a ceasefire agreement nearing, the UN is put under immense pressure to recover the flag. The UN assigns the SDC (Special Development Command) to the recovery mission. The SDC are to use the HAVWC (High Agility Versatile Weapon Carrier), an enourmous bipedal mechanised robot to recover the flag. Shirasu, the author of the original picture, is invited to document their mission. Shirasu meets people from many walks of life, learns about the natives who must live in a war-torn country, the soldiers who fight to liberate them, and perhaps most important, what it means to be a photographer. Most of the series’ events are shown from the perspective of her camera.
