Info:

The official soundtrack from Hollywood Records is very little compared to the complete recording sessions. Many tracks and variations omitted, and because "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" by Henry Jackman is my favorite soundtrack I ripped the Blu-ray Disc clean channels of the movie, from the original lossless English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 (8 channels), but the movie has NOT an isolated score ("Captain America: The First Avenger" neither), the 8 .wav/mono audio tracks were mixed with film effects and I can’t remove it, but the credits were clean, so this is my little contribution until a complete score or recording sessions come out.

• Folder 1 is the first Blu-ray Disc rip I made August 19, 2014 when I created this thread, in 44 kHz.

• Folder 2 is the second Blu-ray Disc rip I made July 15, 2015 as final update and upgrade, in 48 kHz.

• Folder 3 is the rip from Red Carpet World Premiere presentation of the movie, video available in YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D63TFenio-E), extracted in MP3 lossy and splitted/saved manually in FLAC (requested by ispalko070480).

• Folder 4 is the Cap’s speech into the Triskelion (requested by Bugz).

• Also the .RAR includes screenshots of waveform and spectrogram of each track and the wallpapers of the old upload.

Final notes:

• 5.1 and 7.1 impossible to do. I tried, but the sound effects of all channels are impossible to remove (then I can’t rip a clean 5.1 / 7.1). Discarded.

• Channels L / R with multiple voices and explosions, impossible to extract a clean track using only BL, BR, SL, SR. Discarded.

• With this I’m done with this BD Rip, no more updates planned because I exhaust my options, I tried many methods but is impossible to create a clean track of the main channels (C, L, R) without destroying the main track…

I recently heard the credits for the film and noticed that there were cues that sounded differently, which was kinda disappointing. It reminded me of how they put an extended version of ‘Misfire’ on the credits for Iron Man 3 🙁

Yes, but with soundeffects and voices. Impossible to remove without destroying the audio track, none of the 8 mono-audio tracks separated have the clean sound. While I was editing this, I tried, but could not. I wonder how Metrotokyo managed to remove all SFX from TRON: Legacy soundtrack, he did a perfect work.

Yes, Audition and Vegas for post-edition, and to obtain the original-uncompressed extraction in .WAV I used "eac3to (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/eac3to)" with "ArcSoft DTS Decoder" through command lines.

I used 1.1.0.9, and no, no problem extracting. When I said "in part I failed" I mean that the movie has no clean tracks, more or less all tracks have sfx.

Yes, all from DTS-HD MA, but with ArcSoft (because the day I learn to rip this is the method that I found first), but I didn’t know that eac3to had been updated, thank you for telling me, can you provide me the links to the new version please? Like I said above when I come home again I’ll update the thread (in July), so if the new version is better I will use that.

here’s 3.29 with libdcadec.

Keep Arcsoft as it the libdcadec will only be default for 7.x streams.
It has issues doing DTS-Express so use Arcsoft on those.
5.1, it doesn’t matter what you use. They’ll all be bit-identical with either Arcsoft or libdcadec.

Invoke DCAdec manually with:

eac3eto input.dts output.flac -dcadec

At home again. Here we go.

Not the complete score but with this update I want to:

– Rip in 24 bits / 48 kHz (now is 24 bits – 44 kHz).
– Compare the 5 ripped versions between them to obtain fewer errors (thanks to TheSparktank™ 2.1 for the new version of the decoder).
– Edit each track with 5.1 and 7.1 for multi speakers, not only 2.0/2.1 (the worst part, many hours of post edition and I don’t know if I can)
– Try to get more clean tracks searching into the full mono-channels.
– Upload the audio-session of unreleased tracks of the video above posted by ispalko070480.

But this will take me one or two weeks if I want to get it good without errors, need precision and patience.

Finished update.

Final notes:

That’s quite unfortunate. I get why they spray dialogue and effects all over the sound mix, but it’s kinda weird that they don’t envision leaving the score on a separate track. There’s no need to make the score "fit" realistically within the soundtrack to emulate a ‘natural’ sound experience – it’s not like there’s music in the air every time we walk around. The point of the score is to be noticed, to help highlight the content on the screen, not to serve as background noise. It’s unbelievable how scores make it to the bottom of the list in favor of sound effects these days…

Anyways, can’t wait to hear your new updates 😀

Apparently, it comes from the demos. But it matches with Ascap’s repertoire. Looks like Jackman did a 30% of the whole score (which it’s the mostly orchestral parts).

Nope, a clean extraction is impossible due soundeffects and voices everywhere. Wait for the release of the complete score (soon or later). I’m done with this rip (actually two), no more updates.

I don’t know how well your rips are because I’ve never listened to them but they sound pretty damn good with the advice on this forum. I was wondering, until TASM2 leaks (if eve) I am just spending my days listening to that awful rip by garage, Would you be able to do a much better rip (not sexless cause its impossible) just a better rip with an actual attempt at silencing what can be silenced instead of the audio version of the blu ray. Just thought i’d get your input on it brother 🙂

I can give you an answer to that – one helluva lot of work 😉 i can’t speak for R3v3rs3, but unless it was one of my ABSOLUTE favorite scores, i wouldn’t even start. And this is absolutely not any criticism or any attempt to bash your request. It just IS that much work, too many hours to spend on something you don’t feel a whole lot for. My suggestion would be that you start the learning experience yourself. Should you want the audio file from the bluray, but have no way of ripping it yourself, i am sure there will be people here that could assist you. And unless you are in luck and find someone that has a burning passion for that particular score, that’s the only way for you. Sorry 🙂

I attempted an ASM2 rip once. Results were all right but not great or very fun to listen to.

Since the score is so synthesized, the sound mixers felt more free to split up the instruments between the front and rear channels. So that’s an extra burden on the ripper.

Just wait for the sessions to leak, it’ll be worth the wait.

We’re not owed these scores. We’re sounding like spoiled brats upset we didn’t get our way. Stomping our feet and complaining accomplishes nothing.
