Haha, yeah, the European Sega Master System game covers were… basic… to say the least. But then the Master System was always more popular in PAL territories than the NES and Nintendo had some really boring and lame covers themselves so it kind of balanced it out.

I think the cover to Phalanx took the prize for ‘most irrelevant cover to game’s genre and gameplay’ though – an old guy playing a banjo? What does that have to do with a Gradius style ‘bullet-hell’ SHMUP?

special mention to bust a move 2’s NA cover. you would think that game was a survival horror from it.

I love this game series and still have them on my old NES but damn… getting Fabio to pose like Conan for the cover? ugh…

I originally discovered that game while looking up a U entry for the Games A-Z thread. The game is a rip-off of the first two GTA games. I found a playthrough on youtube.

Not a bad version of the game if I remember, but yeah.

The megaman soccer cover almost made me sick. The japanese covers for most games on earlier consoles/handhelds were always better.
