The CD is from my personal collection and the disc was ripped using EZ-CD Audio Ripper.

The reason for that is, this is a "Re-Recording". Bernstein went back into the studio, some years later and produced this (subset) album (which was a very common procedure back then).
I’m not suprised it sounds different because the instrumentation / placement of the orchestra is quite different from tracks originally recorded for the movie.
If so then please count me in
