Hi! It’s been a few years since the previous hosting solution failed, but the collection is now back up for download through MEGA!

Info
Albums are named per region in the games as listed below.

Files are indexed as followed for a clean structure:
"[Title] – [Artist] – [##].mp3" as filename;
%Title%, %Artist%, %Album% as metadata tags.

Quality is great for personal enjoyment. Format is mostly mp3.
Some songs are of lesser quality but were selected because of originality and style.
All songs were taken from the highest-quality source available as provided by the artist.

Are these just remixes in general or are they supposed to be good remixes? If they’re the latter, you should remove all of the GlitchCity ones pronto.

Ranging from average to excellent. I don’t like all remixes that much either, but selected them for their style and originality. GlitchCity seems okay to me, mostly. Or have you found some that are of low quality?

They’re not. Just because they’re not your fancy FLACs doesn’t mean they’re bad rips. Most of them are the original files as provided by the artists themselves. Rarely had I required the use of of a ripper tool. Furthermore, you can’t possibly have listened even a significant fraction of the collection yet to make such a general statement. I take offense to the way you bluntly discredit the collection.

And well, I genuinely like to see your high quality collection then!

Many thanks for these remixes that you compiled up. I still have a good amount of what was in your previous remix collection, but more remixes that I never was aware of existing is nice to have added into the already big collection.

Great job, but some of the songs are put in the wrong regions. For example, the Sinnoh Frontier Brain battle themes are in Hoenn. Other then that, great work.

I only listened to the Hoenn songs, and maybe 1/4 of them sounded like they were badly eq’d/compressed (could be the artist’s fault) or had distortion issues (one I know only is available on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FTQ6fw4o0Y&list=UU5f9wrRNnsel30S2w9NBlww), the artist didn’t like to share much when I talked with him years ago so I’m pretty certain this was a YT rip.)

Also, here is my personal collection of VGM remixes (not limited to Pok�mon). Ah, well, I got most of the songs from the artist himself, rarely do they upload lossless formats. I don’t really hear the difference much except for a few – these I mostly kept because of other reasons, like style or originality.

The one you linked was indeed from YouTube since I had no other source at all. Note that when I download from YouTube, I use the highest quality format available, which goes automatically through YouTube Center as Firefox addon. I found the YouTube one itself to be disappointing in quality, in that it sounds like it was clipped. Or something. I don’t know, not an expert.

I found one song of World End on his personal website, and most I have of Y.W. as well. So these are the best quality available I guess. The Japanese ones I don’t know.

Apologies accepted, by the way. I just found the 0/10 a bit harsh ;). more like a 7/10 IMO, with points lost mainly due to them not being lossless files.

I’ll take a good look at your collection – for which I am very grateful! – to see if stuff can be added to mine and of course you’re welcome to do the same to yours.

NAGISA TOWER BATTLE is part of an album I already have but I didn’t intend on uploading albums anymore, especially since I alter the metadata too much for my own personal collection, which makes sorting easier. But I’ll go through my albums to see if it’s better to just extract a few songs and remove the rest of the album, if the rest isn’t really about pokemon.

As for GlitchCity, I mostly have her songs (not all of them) because of the style, but indeed there are some major improvements to be made. The very heavy bass seems bad for the other instruments.

Edit: Consider it done! You can download the 4 files from the Sinnoh folder on MEGA and remove the ones from your Hoenn folder!

Does anyone have a list of shared music in the games? I’m trying to update titles to be more accurate.

E.g. Routes 101 & 102 & 103 of Hoenn share the same music.

Some I remember, but some take way too long to find out. Is there a list somewhere that already details which places share the same music? That would make renaming files a lot easier.

Edit (2014-09-05): Made myself such a list. Took a while but eh, worth it. Now the entire collection is updated to have new titles, plus at this date I added hundreds of remixes.

Holy crap this is like 20 hours of content, at least. I only knew of glitchxcity and pokemonremixstudio. Kinda sucks because my speakers died on Wednesday so i have to listen with my pathetic headphones until a warrenty exchange, why am i telling you this.

It’s more like 1 day, 6 hours and 30 minutes at this point ;p and increasing bit by bit!

Have you tried Sennheiser in-ear headphones? They’re not expensive yet sound great in that price range. Much better than those flat shitty headphones that come by default with some other electronic devices. 🙂

It said 900 songs total and I look in the Johto file expecting a handful, and then… "HOLY CRAP!!! This is AWESOME!" Thank you so much for compiling all these! I have a 64gb Ipod touch with around 20gb free, so I will likely download all of these and they will be awesome to have! I have a ton (check that, almost all) of the Pokemon soundtracks, so these will be fun and refreshing to listen to. How long did it take you to compile all these? I searched a lot for remixes and found maybe 30. Anyways, thanks!

Should I try downloading these in smaller batches? I tried to highlight them all and download them as a .zip, but whenever I do that Mega gets stuck at 98% or 99% and won’t finish the download. Anybody else have this problem?

Sorry for the late reply, I hope all is resolved! If not: You can import them and then download, that worked for me. I ran into the issue as well sometimes. Another potential solution is to use another browser.

Whoah, a lot of this stuff is blast from the past in my mind. I used to run TheNintendoCode on youtube (I mean, technically, I still do but meh) back when I personally knew a lot of these japanese arrangers (Gokian, Y.W., itacchi, the two guys from Lightning Spirit, Ricelia) from the arrange stream and I lost a good portion of that stuff a ways back so it’s good to have copies of it again.
