Summary:
Hayate Ayasaki is blessed with two irresponsible slacker parents who run up debts and sell him to the very nice people of the yakuza as settlement. When even Santa Claus abandons him, Hayate attempts to kidnap a girl and hold her for ransom. After the world’s worst kidnapping speech (but a surprisingly effective romantic confession), Hayate proceeds to save her from some competent kidnappers, only to discover that she is Nagi Sanzenin, heiress of of a massive conglomerate and resident of an even more massive mansion. When Nagi’s assets save Hayate from the Yakuza, he finds himself in a different predicament: he must work as Nagi’s butler to repay the debt.

Hayate must now muster all of his talents to co-exist with an older butler, a not-so-old maid, and an eloquent tiger, all while tearing Nagi away from her hikikomori lifestyle of anime, manga, and game fandom long enough to attend school at an elite academy. But many more perils await Hayate, ranging from Nagi’s quirky family and friends to robots, mad scientists, rival butlers, and the horrifying realization that he looks good in a catgirl outfit. Can Hayate master an Ultimate Technique such as the Kame**meha, triumph in the Butler Tournament, and bring revolution to the world? Can he pass his classes with a careless, boozing teacher out to get him? Can he avoid breaking the heart of the "hamster" who loves him? All this and more, in Hayate The Combat Butler!
