The composer for 1998’s Dr. Dolittle 1 was Richard Gibbs, and the direct-to-video Dr. Dolittle 3 (2006) went to Christopher Lennertz. But David Newman got the job for the film that came in-between and he created another upbeat and fun score. Despite winning the BMI Film Music Award in 2002, the soundtrack released on J Records included only 13 pop vocals.
