I’m using Opera 12 because of ram usage.
So I open Chrome, version 23. Now it says ‘download starting’, but nothing ever happens.
Anyone have a clue as to why? And why does it matter anyway? You just need to click a link. IE 8 should be good enough for that.
Makes me wonder if they are harvesting data.
It’s optimized for chrome, not firefox…

But you have to be aware that you cannot set the download directory (at least for firefox). In my case, it stores al files on the desktop (not in the download directory set in Firefox).
It makes no difference if you use it or not.
I’ve disabled it and downloaded just the same with or without the extension in both browsers.
Mega will download to temp. folder on your harddrive.
If you’ve congifugred your browser to store all your temp files on the RAM (like a RAMdisk), then it may never work.
Try removing "blob:" from the beginning?
What is blob?
I’ve been seeing a lot of people post blob as part of their link.
When a link is accessed, it is changed. Blob is something from this transformation.
On older versions, probably a cached file, but that would also be deleted upon exit.
Taken from here: http://superuser.com/questions/594277/how-to-find-downloaded-files-location
@Orie: I’ve been getting that error myself, as of late; my guess is that it is a temporary hiccup/screw-up on MEGA’s end, the issue disappears on its own here, I try loading the same page again and it eventually works.
I don’t know where to get the blob or anything. it shows in that message like that, but the original link has no blob in it. :/
I’ve been getting that blob stuff since MEGA was launched. Firefox user here:
– Start to download a file;
– Wait for percentage on the MEGA page to reach 100%;
– Get prompted to pick where to save the file;
– Look into the web browser’s download manager;
– Where is the file being download from? Blob resource.
Are there download managers that support MEGA, or the user is basically screwed into doing things "its" way?
At any rate, my question still stands: have you tried stuff like download managers (even external)? Or mega.nz is such a piece of crap that it wants everything to be done with its software/tools? EDIT: As far as mere access to one’s account is concerned, is there any app which allows it? I do get advertisement about some kind of Mobile app (I think), from time to time, but I don’t see much for Desktop.
Unless the link gets parsed by something else on the way.
Grabbing a link off Skype that will drop the first part of the link, makes it void and null.
You need to use "copy link" or something.
Sometimes OP might even just might visit the download page and copy the link there which doesn’t work the same as copying the link from the account page.
Do the drives involved have sufficient free space?
If you’re using a RamDisk and getting Chrome to store temp files there, that would do it.
