Not particularly impressive when you think about the exposure he’s had to his uncle’s writing, but a decent score nonetheless. Thanks.

Fairly stupid movie with some so-so funny bits but one scene I cannot get out of my head is from that scene where we see Chucky for the first time. Call me weird but did the gross slopping sounds and the position of Chucky’s head in that little girl/boy’s lap strike anyone else as a bit…oral sex-y? It’s quite a disturbing joke to try and pull in any comedy but I couldn’t stop replaying the scene. It’s regretfully one of the bigger laugh out loud scenes for me.
As far as the score goes, Ryan Shore is definitely no Howard Shore. I liked Ryan’s score for Headspace but anything else he’s done hasn’t been my cup of tea. It works in context of the film but outside of the film, the cheap synths evoke far better scores from years past. In other words, nothing new or interesting in this spoof. Where’s James L. Venable when you need him for a film like this?
