Such a splendid collection, I will order a physical copy from the composer’s site the official website of Lalo Schifrin (http://www.schifrin.com/store/my-life-in-music.html). I got the taster from Israbox as I assume you did. It’s MP3-V0 with no artwork, so the 48-page book is missing.

Upload.net is a long,slow process for me but when the download is complete I’ll find out the bitrate and relay that info.

I had an interrupted download(a hiccup on my end,nothing to do with the download link),and only got 19 tracks. I’ll try it again in another 3 hours when a retry is possible.

The variable bit rates on these MP3 tracks are very high,not 320 but probably average around 550 kbps. What I have sounds absolutely wonderful.

Isn’t 320 the maximum for MP3 files? Variable bit rates (VBR) then would be below 320, now, wouldn’t it?

It’s evident that 320 kbps isn’t the maximum because these are MP3 files and they far exceed that supposed maximum. And each one of these tracks varies in bitrate. Track 101 at 696 kbps,track 102 at 510 kbps,track 103 at 552 kbps,track 104 at 396 kbps,etc. Download this and see for yourself.

The whole package comes in at 508 mb. It’s a wonderful compilation and a keeper for myself.

What’s the POINT in encoding mp3 higher than 320kb(CBR)???? – First of all, many devices won’t play it, and secondly, the very reason why mp3 even exists – small files – is NEGATED. 😉
